  1. @purplehippo This is a case of "the achievement was probably not that hard when you were running a proper, level appropriate 10 or 25 man raid, but good luck trying it now when no one level appropriate runs that content so you get to try it with a couple of people over-levelled"

    1. @maiyannah If you're trying those your best bet would be to start a twink guild specifically to run older content.

      1. @nerthos Or I could just do it solo because my wife died halfway threough and hyperventilate my way through, it works, apparently.

There are WoW guilds made up of mainly young gay skinny men?

        Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:07:55 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
        1. @katiekats At this point? most likely. In ESO I sometimes see guilds advertising as "lgtb friendly" so since wow has been around much longer...

          1. @nerthos @katiekats "Horde of Gaymers" is a guild that keeps trying to recruit Creidne, when shes a bananaing GM, so er, yes.

            1. @maiyannah Well "GM" could be confused as "Gay Man"

I should get into ESO. I have the physical stuff from the Collectors Edition cos someone a few doors down from me said they didn't want it, they just wanted the digital stuff, and they'd been to like five houses before me and no one wanted it.

They gave me the game too but they'd bought it on Xbox so *shrug*

Still have a neat Molag Bal statue tho. Never chatted to that neighbor since.

            1. @katiekats @nerthos Sheogorath would have been better.  Who puts a statue in a box anyways?

            2. @katiekats I've been playing it on and off, but it sometimes goes on big sales. Last time it was $10.

              1. @nerthos
Yeah I did buy it then on Steam. I've just not played it cos subscription and don't currently have money.

...At least the statue is neat still.

                1. @katiekats @nerthos ESO is free to play now actually.

Everything that isn't WoW goes free to play eventually.

                  1. @katiekats @nerthos er meant to post that from the other account woops

                    1. @maiyannah @nerthos
Well, I don't mean like, straight up not free to play.

I was just under the impression it was like the SWTOR 'free to play'

I.E. Most things are technically accessible, just soul crushing, unless you subscribe and 'properly' get everything.

                      1. @katiekats Subscription gives you duble bank, double furniture allowance in houses, +10% xp, store credit and "craft bag" which means materials don't take space in your inventory. It's nothing you /need/ to play the game, it just makes it slightly less annoying if you're short on space.

                      2. @katiekats @nerthos I actually have never renewed my ESO subscription because I never saw the point.  I cant say I play it more than occasionally - I played it mostly with @halani who fell off of it - but I never played it and thought "man, sub would really make this better" nor have been like "man, this is so bananaty to free-players I'm not gonna grape with it"

                        Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:30:25 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
                        1. @maiyannah Subscription is only good if you want to no-life the game for a month or two and finish all DLC and then never play again IMO

Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:32:30 UTC from web
                          1. @nerthos See I'll play for a bit and get an arc done, get kind of bored because its a good game but definitely needs a group unlike many modern MMOs, leave it for a while, and then repeat when I think "huh, ESO was kinda neat, I should give it a go again"

                            Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:33:41 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
                            1. @maiyannah Same. First time around I got up to level 20something and did three areas or so then dropped it because I was supposed to play with my brother but he'd lag behind a lot. Then picked it up and made it to full level and finished the Covenant storyline but then dropped it when my GPU died and haven't picked it up again

Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:38:47 UTC from web
                              1. @nerthos I actually like that sometimes.  Having a game I can just do a bit of and come back to later without feeling like there's a gun to my head and I have to come back to it, like people get with WOW raidijng and grape.

                                Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:40:55 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
                                1. @maiyannah Yeah, one of the many reasons I don't do subscriptions or any of that. Online games are an on and off thing for me that I'll play when I feel up to it for whatever reason or I have someone to play with. The only thing that you somewhat need to keep up with in ESO is daily horse training if you don't want your horse slow, but even that you can just log in, click, and close.

                                  1. @nerthos WoW and UO are the only ones I've ever been able to justify.  WoW because its WoW really, the amount of content is Fluffle Puffing mental.  UO because I had a huge amount of online friends there and I'm a complete mark for anything Ultima that isn't mangoing Ascension.

                                    Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:50:05 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
                                    1. @maiyannah I tried UO for a bit but then dropped it, might pick it up some day.

                                      1. @nerthos It was honestly much better when Garriott was running the ship.  I look forward to Shroud of Virtue.  My wife actually got me it as a present for christmas but Ive been holding off on it until the 1.0 release so my impressions aren't soured by beta jankiness or being awesome in beta and then they break it, or something.

                                        2. @maiyannah Oh, I get you. I've been eyeing that one for a bit but I have too much stuff to play already.

Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:58:35 UTC from web
                        2. @maiyannah ESO is definitely one of the more generous ones in that regard

                          1. @halani SWTOR on the other hand, whenever the sub lapses, makes me really angry with how basically not-F2P-but-it-is-honest it is.

                            Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:36:18 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
                2. @katiekats The subscription thing has been gone for over a year, hence why I play it. I liked the beta but didn't get it until they removed the subscription. Now the subscription is just for some fancy stuff like double bank space and dlc access without buying it (which is quite dumb really, as I spent $24 to get all four while it costs $15 a month for premium)

                  1. @nerthos
Anything worth buying on the 'coins' shop? (or whatever the premium currency is called, I forget)

                    Monday, 05-Jun-17 06:28:44 UTC from community.highlandarrow.com
                    1. @katiekats The DLC. Then maybe some hairstyle or pet if you have some spare premium coin.

                    2. @katiekats $15 gets you 1500 coins with subscription, $24 gets you 5500 on it's own when it's on sale
