That bit of the manifesto bothered me too @bob but I can see how it makes sense to policy wonks, in the context of the other proposals
@bob we have the RealMe digital ID here in Aotearoa, also voluntary (for now), and some major civil liberties concerns have been raised
@bob perhaps it boils down to who is the worst entity to have issuing digital passports, states or corporations (#FarceBook, Google etc)?
@bob the ideal solution would be some kind of federated identity system, like #OpenID or #OAuth but fully independent and more secure?
@bob the core problem is representative democracy assumes one vote per meatbody while net democracy assumes running code and rough consensus
@bob how do we reconcile the two? Can it be done? What other options are there?
