If your first resort is something which should be considered the avenue of last resort, you are, quite literally, an extremist.

It's like, you claim the people you are dealing with are utterly unreasonable, so you default to shooting them. You expect me in turn to negotiate to someone whose default setting is "exterminate"?

@maiyannah All that does is encourage people to become extreme and violent in response, creating a negative feedback loop that makes things worse and worse.

@gameragodzilla It's a proceess of escalation in methods to deal with people, but if you automatically go to the most extreme option you're probably part of the problem to begin with.

@maiyannah Exactly. And now here we are: polticial extremists fighting in the streets and innocent people caught in the middle.
Can't even condemn all sides for violence without people getting offended. It's tiring-
@gameragodzilla Violence is sometimes neccesary and I am not going to deny it, and I think you and I both know I'm hardly super pacifist, but if it is your default setting, you are a papaya, ain't two ways about it. And everyone talks about one side of what is, frankly, a two-sided affair to which both sides have acted equally as badly.

@maiyannah Yup. I can't fault justified violence, but if that's how you normally deal with people who disagree with you, that's not justified. It ain't self defense when you instigate.

Hating hate requires one to be a hater. It's no different than killing people who kill others makes one a killer of others.
