I honestly miss feeling like I have friends that would stand up for me if some Potato Knishes happened. I have like, maybe four.

@maiyannah The downside of long distance friends I guess

@nerthos @maiyannah Yeah. I mean if I was ever in the area and some kiwi happened, I'd definitely lend a hand. But it's hard to do anything when you're hundreds of miles away.
Of course, there was a time when I did stand up for her during an online kerfuffle and... well that didn't end well for me.-

@gameragodzilla @nerthos "it didn't end well for me"
Well, for whatever the sentiment's worth, that's when you know they're doing it because they care for ya, not because they think they're getting something out of it or think they can use you for something or whatever.-
@maiyannah @nerthos Yeah I don't regret standing up for you, I just always wish things didn't turn out the way it did.
But life's life, and I learned who I can actually count on as a friend and who I can't, so thanks for sticking around Mai.-
@gameragodzilla @nerthos Ironically the reason she got iffy about me to begin with, in retrospect, was basically that I wouldn't disassociate certain others.

@maiyannah @nerthos Yeah. I had thought being a friend for so long might've gave me some room to be listened to, but not really it seems. I sometimes still wonder how things would've turned out if I did something differently, but that's all maybes.

@gameragodzilla @nerthos If they discard you so blithely then, well.
