Ok, I finally brought myself to watch those last three episodes. The finale was good, but not as great as I've been hearing. Probably without a fandom to create that expectation it would have been better. Well, it's my fault for not watching it earlier, so I can't complain. Guess the experience is forever ruined.

@nerthos It was a LOT better the day it came out, it was literally an "omgomgomg best thing EVER moment" for me. Looking back though, if I had watched it *now*, the fandom would have totally killed it for me.

@minti G4 will probably be the only good gen. Anything past there (with the exeption of a G4.5) will be terrible, most likely. The thing that made the show so awesome in the first place was Lauren Faust, and I doubt she'll be back in future generations.

@lovetolerateandsquee I'd like to see them try and reboot the series again, whole new ponies, whole new adventures. It would be neat.

@minti Like they did with G4? Well, yeah, that'd be awesome. But again, they'd need Faust, and that's unlikely.

@lovetolerateandsquee Yeah, kind of like what they did with G4. Hopefully it stays the same style though, I adore this shows animation style now (and the main reason I can't watch any previous gens. It's so baaad.)

@minti I have a particularly good memory for these things. I'm sure I will barely remember what happens in the episodes, which is exactly why it will be good. I literally remember conversations from years ago, so remembering to watch a show again will not be a problem.

@minti Exactly. I managed to forget all but the main plot of Shaman King in about 6 years, so I'll be able to forget enough of MLP:FiM in 40.
