@communistprime Ooh! I wanted to tell you, if you get a chance to look up Wednesday night, there will be a very pretty lunar eclipse going on. :) It starts at 17:24 UT -- I think that's 21:54 in Afghanistan? -- but will start to get really pretty around an hour later. Anyway, not sure if you're into that, but, if you are, there you have it. :) Thought about you, since you're one of the few people here who would actually be able to see it, and it looks like it'll be a good one!

@astra Let's see if I can remember till then! I'd looove to see it, especially because the nights here are always clear. Thanks for the thoughts and heads up! !hug

@communistprime Ooo, I sure hope that you can catch it! I love stuff like that. (Not that you could tell or anything. *blush*) And, wow, it does sound like a great place to see the eclipse, there, with it being so clear!

@astra Yeah! I love everything about space, or just about anything related to it. Let's just hope it stays clear...we've been getting clouds moving through the past couple days. I'll have a great view if it stays clear, I'll even try to record it if I remember to charge my camera.

@communistprime Ohhhh, that would be awesome if you could do that! :D Oh, I do hope that it stays clear there! Clouds seem to be my bane for this sort of thing, too. *pout* Best meteor shower of the century! Too bad there's this big rainstorm pushing through . . . RAINBOW DAAAAASH! ;) (Sorry, a little silly, there. But, darnit, it's so true!)

@astra The other day, when I was at work, it started drizzling a bit. I remember looking up at the sky and saying "c'mon, rainbow dash. Is that all you got?"

@nutterguy LOL! That is awesome!

@astra The meteor shower from earlier this year? I think there was one...can't remember. I know when I wad in Alaska I missed a bunch oh stuff due to the 24 hour sunlight :/ I did see the aurora a couple times though, it's really pretty if you're in the right area.

@communistprime Actually, this was almost a decade ago, though there was a really nice shower a little over a month ago that I missed due to rain. *pout* And, ohhh, the auroras up in Alaska are phenomenal! I only vaguely remember them there, as I was VERY young then. I did get to see some when I lived in northern Wisconsin many years ago, though, and those were sooooo pretty! Loved them. :)

@astra I knew there was one earlier! And I think I remember that one shower, but vaguely. I've never been too far north in Wisconsin...farthest was Door County. Bailey's Harbor more specifically, very nice up there.

@communistprime Ahhh, yes. But, yes, I used to live up in the Green Bay area, and used to head north fairly often, to relax under clearer skies. Not quite as clear as, say, Alaska, but the band of the Milky Way was still very bright and pretty there.

@astra Oh yeah, much calmer out there. No city lights brightening up the sky. I'll have to head out there again once I get home...

@communistprime Why, yes! Yes, you must. :)
