1. @nerthos Headcanon: the Rook is secretly the good guy, and only wants to free Glitchen from being trapped within the giants' minds. #

      1. @bitshift The Rook's taking revenge for the nightmares the Giants caused him.

        1. @nerthos It also seems pretty likely, whatever its origin, that the Rook is something of comparable power to the Giants, considering it can actually break parts of the game UI. Even the Giants haven't shown any power to affect things beyond what's within the game world yet.

          1. @bitshift The Rook is the anti-thesis to the giants. They're on equal terms.

            1. @minti Also consider that the Giants alone cannot harm it - they need a pious Glitch to channel their will into the world to even be able to repel it, let alone defeat it.

              1. @bitshift Maybe the Giants spent most of their power on creating the world? An Almalexia kind of thing.

                1. @nerthos Seems pretty likely. Would that make Glitchen parts of the Giants' imagination that achieved CHIM, though?

                  1. @bitshift Interesting idea. It could be, and due to that enlightment they're able to fight the Rook. And probably the Giants too if they realized it.
