  1. So, does anyone know if hot or cold will help ease carpel tunnel pain at all?

    1. @minti Since it's caused by pressure on the nerve, cold should theorically contract the tissues and relieve pressure.

      1. @nerthos And if it doesn't, at least it should make the are lose a bit of feeling.

      2. @nerthos @ceruleanspark Alright, I thought so too. Thanks.

        1. @minti Assuming you don't end up homeless in the immediate future, it's absolutely worth investing in an ergo keyboard and mouse. My pain has almost totally gone since I started using mine.

          1. @ceruleanspark I'll think about it. It's kind of funny though, I haven't had an issue with it in over 2-3ish years. It just popped back up now, and it sucks. :/

        2. @minti No problem man.

        3. @minti Also: Kickboxing hand-wraps can stand in perfectly well for a proper wrist brace and cost almost nothing. I think the set I bought (for kickboxing) cost about $3

          1. @ceruleanspark I have an actual medical brace I bought years ago for this, but I think I packed it away cause I never expected to use it again and it's too late to start tearing my house apart trying to find it. :/

    2. @minti It's caused by swelling of the nerve, so a cold compress should either reduce the swelling on the nerve, or cause the surrounding tissues to contract, reducing the pressure on it. Source: I have it too.

      1. @ceruleanspark @nerthos Yeah okay, cold is REALLY helping. Thanks a lot guys.

        1. @minti If you find yourself in a situation where you can't use ice, analgesic painkillers based on paracetamol will reduce the swelling directly. Over the counter ones are more-or-less safe to take continuously assuming you don't have any heart or circulatory issues or conflicting medication types.
