  1. Fox News, NPR AND Wired bashing Bronies? "Haters gonna hate!~" =D

    1. @muffin Meh.

    2. @muffin The RedEye bit wasn't bad at all. Wired was mostly levelheaded except for the typical basement-dwelling-nerd stereotype that the media tends to push on any marginal subculture, though I do wish they'd thought twice about putting that bit in. As for NPR, well Wait Wait is a comedy show; that's what they *do* there. You should hear the sort of stuff they say about big celebrities and politicians. Too bad they only spent about three seconds actually discussing the show, but apparently that's because Sethisto refused to say anything during the interview. (Wtf, really.)

      1. @starshine well sethisto said stuff at the interview, but apparently not what they wanted him to say he said that they asked him "so what are bronies?" and "why do you like my little pony?" 8 or 9 times, and he kept saying that they liked my little pony because it has good animation and it was an enjoyable show and stuff. they were expecting him to say that they liekd it because they love ponies and friendship and girly stuff.

        1. @calvindapanda Feh!

        2. @calvindapanda He could have at least said something more interesting, like how other shows like PPG and Foster's made by the same people set a precedent for this wide fanbase and that the show was created specifically to appeal to that wider audience by *breaking* those stereotypical girly-and-frilly stereotypes, or how the creators are willing to interact with the fans of the show. Maybe he could have brought up some of the aspects of the show that appeal to the peripheral audience, like the jokes referencing David Bowie, Woody Allen, Lone Ranger, Blazing Saddles, etc. that would just fly over little kids' heads. There's *way* more that he could have said.

          1. @starshine Don't forget Benny Hill's Yakkity Sax. There are some very obscure cultural references in the show, along with the popular ones like Doctor Whoof.

            1. @artrageous Doctor Whoof is entirely fan-created. Until a blue police box shows up in Equestria, that is. Of course there's tons of other stuff in there like Benny Hill, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Greta Garbo, Apocalypse Now, Star Trek, Forrest Gump, Ghost Busters, Katamari...

              1. @starshine Ah, okay, I thought he was/had become official in a similar way that Derpy and Dj P0N-3 had. Noticed? I guess. Overall, agreed though, there's lots of neat references.

        3. @calvindapanda Actually, that's rather typical. The media has a story it wants to tell, and if you're close enough to it, you can be part of it as 'the facts'. If not, they try and trick you into saying what they want or just give up and write it without you. That's the basis for the very old phrase, "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you read." The media has been -making- news for generations.

      2. @starshine Oh, I'm not upset at all. Hence the "Haters gonna hate" comment. I just noticed that everyone seemed to let it get to them XD

    6. @greydragon412 That'd be pretty cool, yeah. I'm looking forward to the (inevitable) Big Lebowski reference, too.
