@phillipjayfry You seen it already? They usually rip, but, I mean, it just ends up being typical pro skating with crappy styles that I don't really like. It's the reason i don't really watch videos from major companies anymore. They're good, but the style usually gets old.

@abigpony Yeah, some people uploaded the video on YouTube already. And I agree about the skating, but I guess some of the skaters on the team just aren't hyped up enough to get really gnarly clips, but nonetheless they're still happy with what they got since having fun is what matters most, as corny and cliche that is.

@phillipjayfry no, it's totally true. I'm just tired of the same old tech flips and flip-in flip-outs in plazas and perfect sets that major videos tend to rely on. I like a nice mix which most don't seem to offer. Like local AZ videos usually have ditch skating and more run of the mill spots with a nice set thrown in. It brings it back to the fun, innovative stuff. Not doubting the dudes are rad, but the skating is kinda "bleh"

@abigpony Yeah, I feel like the techy type of skating only have a limited spot selection, which is like mostly ledges and stairs. And Arizona does have some cool ditch spots, I went there on a skate trip with a group of buddies a while back, plus the skateparks there are fun too.

@phillipjayfry i've been meaning to, but I don't know anyone with a car or have a very large group of friends I skate with. Ditches are fun in general. The really tech stuff is cool and I admire it for it's difficulty and all that, but it's just not even fun to watch. Innovation and fun mean different things to different people, but as haslam said "who can do the tech stuff and look good getting away with it?" I feel O'neill and maybe P Rod are the only ones in that category.

@abigpony Yeah, plus I think Nyjah Huston would fit into the category since he's always flipping into grinds and slides on huge handrails flawlessly in a few tries. But I'm not really into skaters like him, Shane O'Niell and P. Rod are cool too, but they're just too mainstream!

@phillipjayfry Well as cool as it is to hate mainstream skaters and stuff, there are a few I like, shane and P.Rod always deserving my respect. Shane for making the extremely tech look so simple and P. Rod for his constant switch throwdowns. He's always been rad. Nyjah's alright, but I don't really like his style much. Rise and Shine got really old really fast and I didn't even want to watch most of it despite it being undoubtedly good. It's just boring and repetitive. The point is to develop tastes based on actual criticisms as opposed to bias like that.

@abigpony They totally do deserve the respect that they get, but I feel like they just shine in the spotlight a little too much and some other pros also deserve some the glory too. Like Austyn Gillette, the new part he came out with on the Trasher website totally blew me away, I just absolutely love the way he skates.

@phillipjayfry his part's pretty good, I'm just not personally a fan of standalone parts. Gilette is just the new hype. He's just the taste of the month like Gonzalez was a couple weeks ago and then Westgate before him, then Ortiz before him and so on and so forth. I think jaws is working on something next, but I'm gettin tired of just having the separate parts so they can market one skater at a time. I honestly love Gilette and his Quik part was totally rad and his Thrasher part was pretty rad because it didn't overtech anything. If you take a step back right now, though, and look at the skate community, Gilette's on the top right now.

@abigpony Even if Austyn is the taste of the month, I still stand by him, and my boy Dylan Reider! I would be excited to see what Jaws comes out with next, what building will he jump down next? But I recently checked on his instagram account and his ankle is just crazy swollen, so that just bummed me out.

@abigpony Forrest was from Slap Magazine's One in a Million contest where skaters across the nation send in their footage to Slap to be chosen to skate in the city that's chosen, I think 10 people were chosen as the finalists. Anyways, he was infamous for being the jerk in the group because he was giving off bad vibes to the other skaters. Forrest just kills every spot that they all went to, and was not eliminated from the contest. However, even though he really good clips and photos at almost every spot they went to, his bad attitude prevented him from being chosen as the winner. I guess this can explained better if you watched the One in a Million video episodes on YouTube.

@phillipjayfry Oh, yeah, that 3-flip 5050! Forgot about that. That was pretty rad at the time. I think it was Cody Mac or something who did it a couple years earlier, but he landed it cleaner I think. I knew Fitzgerald blew up after that, but I didn't see the end of it all so i didn't know he won. That's pretty cool. I gotta catch the more recent ones. You live in the same city as all these people why aren't you hittin em up to skate? haha.

@abigpony I wish i could hit them up haha, but they got their own group to skate with and i got mine, but i'll see them at some spots or skateparks sometimes. And yeah, John Fitzgerald won and was getting product from Zero for a while but recently he was cut from the team and now he's riding for Alien Workshop, which I think is an upgrade for him since I'm more psyched on Alien than Zero.
