            2. @nerthos Also, y'know, the armor in fallout is hardly nicely padded. The force imparted from the blow is still transmitted to the person, it's just the piercing that is stopped. I recall an experiment at one point whereby a person wearing bulletproof armor was shot in the chest and the pressure of the impact caused their aorta to explode.

              1. @ceruleanspark That's perfectly reasonable, and a stab, or, as you mentioned, a blow with a fair amount of kinetic force would probably cause serious damage in the character, since there are small unprotected areas. But the thing is, they're trying to cut. Plates. With a knife. Instead of stabbing like anyone with common sense would.
