I know people are avoiding Windows 8 for various reasons, including but not limited to: Metro, Metro's implementation, the implication of the Windows Store, or the Ribbon-ifying of Windows Explorer. I'm interested to know if you guys are or aren't upgrading to 8, and your reason(s). Genuinely curious here, all I know is people hate it.

@neurario I generally don't like that it's this strange kind of Hybrid of PC and Tablet OS. So yeah, metro. To me, it seems absolutely unintuitive and not thought through. Thanks to @Cavatina, I will give it a try, though.

@hakupony Fair enough. Honestly I like the look of Metro, but the transition from that to the desktop could have been done better.

@neurario also... apps in my PC? Call me old fashioned but I prefer my PC not to be a mobile phone. I like PCs, I like the feel of using PCs, I like the general look of PC UIs - hell, I even like consoles. And behind the UI, I didn't see what is the big novelty of Win8, so to me, it is a question of aestetics.

@hakupony Yeah. Honestly, it does feel to me like they kind of intend Windows to be a tablet OS from here on out. I mean, sure it all works on PC too, and at least there's the beloved Desktop mode, but what's going to happen to it in future versions? Are they going to implement a OS X Gatekeeper-type system where they warn/block on installation of programs that DON'T come from the Windows Store? I'd be honest and say that I actually like the PRINCIPLE of how Metro works, even if it isn't executed as well. I like docking Metro apps to the side of the Desktop. I wish it wasn't such a drastic change, though. I might actually try it out again on my lappy, but with this: http://retroui.com/

@unhipdruid http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/ Start8 is a nice middleground I've heard of. Haven't had a chance to try it, though.

@neurario OK, im getting that, il try and find a good fast Hard Drive to test it out on my desktop, no wait, i have another SSD lying around, il just use that. (i talk to much..)

@neurario If we tak about the future, then I wonder more how AR will be implemented. Google has some nice projects about this. I'd love to wear goggles and a glove for I/O :D

@hakupony I love the idea of Google Glass. It probably won't replace my phone, but the fact that this stuff is becoming a reality is amazing.
