Frame rates are HORRIBLE. and my fans are SCREAMING. Ugh. More ram or a mother video card?

@renovatedkitchen *another video card. I can't decide which one will give more bang for the buck
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:24:04 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen Probably the video card. What'cha got now?

@eaglehooves @praxis I have a 2GB 6950- with 6970 firmware, then fully overclocked (to where its still stable). I get horrible FPS when I'm in a city that has lots of trees and buildings

@renovatedkitchen Nope. Ontarian Through and through. boring as sin here.

Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:24:46 UTC from web-
@praxis I don't like nvidia, because they burn out my air conditioner in the summer
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:27:32 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen great for those cold winter nights of gaming though
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:28:04 UTC from web-
@praxis hehe. Yeah. I'm more an ATI fan boy because of the less heat created and low power consumption
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:29:19 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen Honestly i'm new to this sort of thing but yeah i've heard all about Nvidia's heating issues
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:29:56 UTC from web-
@praxis and I love to overclock. My poor 6950 (6970) is dying of heat. I would get another, but ram is so much cheaper
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:31:41 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen i'm curious about the 7000 series' performance compared to its 6000 counterpart.
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:32:44 UTC from web-
@praxis yeah, yeah. I got a 5990, they come out with the 6xxx 2 months later. I buy this one, 2 months later its 7xxx
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:33:52 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen alot of the time i hear people say that it's not worth the hike in price or to just get a better 6000 rather than the 7000
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:35:14 UTC from web-
@praxis I'd rather crossfire 6xxx for the price of one 7xxx
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:36:13 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen how daring! i assume your mother board is crossfire capable already? other wise i feel like it would be sort of a hassle
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:37:13 UTC from web-
@praxis yeah. But I have 3 hard drives, an SSD, liquid cooled CPU, 6 core overclocked and only a 650 watt PSU
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:39:50 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen ouch. uprading your PS is a worthy investment. that set up sounds beautiful though
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:40:46 UTC from web-
@praxis yeah. 32gb SSD boot drive, 2TB WD green for media, 1TB WD black for games. (Sorry, only 3 hdds in total). I'm gonna try to juice my power supply till its last breath. Found a guy selling a 6970 for 200

@renovatedkitchen Percentage wise, how much do you gain from crossfire anyways? Seems like a lot of money for the return.
Tuesday, 15-Jan-13 04:38:24 UTC from web-
@eaglehooves in recent times they have increased the efficiency from what I hear. I loved my 5990 if that helps
