            1. @kayian Is this your first attempt at a story? If no, how often do you write completed stories? If often enough, are they well-received?

              1. @publictimeline Well I tried some, but they ended up as give ups, but for this one, I actually made it a new years resolution to keep at it and see it to the end.

                1. @kayian Do you have an important reason for 1st person? If not stick to 3rd-person-limited (one pov at a time but in 3rd person)

                  1. @publictimeline Ya, that's what I need to work on, but like I said...What I think in my head, doesn't come out right in text. Something like this being the reason I put this on DA first instead of a big sight like FanFiction.net

                    1. @kayian fanfiction.net ... tis a silly place. Stick to 3rd-person limited. Read this http://eznguide.rogerdodger.me/ Also, save up 15-20 american dollars and purchase The Fire in Fiction. That book is important if you take writing seriously. There is also a free monthly writer's e-zine by a guy called Roger something. Finally, connect with and form a professional/friendly relationship with a passionate and diligent editor.

                      1. @publictimeline Thanks for the advice and as for connecting with an editor, @kayian ha ha, that's not going to happen.

                        1. @kayian It has to if you're serious. And you need to be serious. You need a *dedicated* and *serious* editor who will break down for you what you are doing and show you the difference between text and narrative. There are lots of editors out there who are very knowledgeable about the craft of writing and if you buddy up to one, it will be easier, MUCH easier, to improve.
