        1. @miloth Hey yeah! That's great :D ~ I'm doing well, just a bit bored this afternoon so I'm sitting on G+, facebook, tumblr, youtube, and here q.q

          1. @haganbmj I can barely leave tumblr, youtube, and rdn running without either crashing. Of course i'm running on 1GB RAM. I see.

            1. @miloth Ahh yeah - that would be a bit of a problem. The problem on my end is that I have nothing else to do and so I'm kinda locked into just sitting on those 5 websites.

              1. @haganbmj Same with me.

            2. @miloth What kind of machine do you have? And have you considered penguins? I can run RDN/G+/Facebook in Firefox, a music program, a messenger, Thunderbird, and a video player on my P4 desktop with 1Gb, and with all that, it only reports about 1/2 memory used up.

              1. @drewdle Penguins? HP Windows Vista. With only google chrome open, it reports about 3/4 usage of memory.

                1. @miloth Oi, Vista and 1Gb? That's terrible. Yes, penguins. http://www.xubuntu.org/ Unless you need to game or need particular Windows programs, might work much better with that.

                  1. @drewdle Why not ubuntu? What's the difference? I've been meaning to do it, but I've been so lazy lately. Last time I used ubuntu, I ran out of space.

                  2. @drewdle I guess Xubuntu is your distro of choice, then?

Thursday, 14-Jul-11 19:18:24 UTC from web
                    1. @scribus Yeah. Seems to strike a nice balance for me. But I by no means want to push it on anyone. That's why there's so many Linuxes. Pick the one you like. I'd like Ubuntu if it ran better on the P4 and they hadn't switched to Unity.

                      1. @drewdle i like linux except that so much of it is unperfected. If the distros were backwards compatible it would be a lot more useful to me

                      2. @drewdle I just switched to Debian because of Unity, but I'm not really happy with Debian either. I believe my next attempt (when I have time) will be Arch with LXDE. Really do like Arch, I just rarely have the time to get it set up.
