  1. Basement picture. Because my room is only where I sleep. My basement is where I do everything electronics based. http://ur1.ca/drfcy

      1. @ryanjjjj if you look to the far right, you can see my claim to fame: musical floppy drives.

        1. @techdisk Thats what i ment, do they not have enclosures? or are the upside down? I used to have a large collections of old Pc's drives and such. had to give most of it off when i moved :'c it was the hardest thing iv ever done

          1. @ryanjjjj if your talking about the floppy drives, i took them off. The sound is louder that way. If your talking about the actual hard drives, I don't need no enclosure.

            1. @techdisk yeah it was the floppys and DAYUM thats amazing i had no idea tey made so much noise! i should never had given mine off :c

              1. @ryanjjjj :P all you need is an Arduino and some technical know how. (AKA wiring things according to a diagram)

                1. @techdisk do how do you initiate the floppys read/write scrolling? i imaging you would need to do it manually as the floppys are limited in dazychaining

                  1. @ryanjjjj I use a microcontroller connected directly and individually to each drive's STEP and DIRECTION pins.

                  2. @ryanjjjj no daisychaining here!

                    1. @techdisk yeah panda was saying somthing about arduino, imma give it a lookup

                    2. @techdisk thats clever, i imagived it was somthing along those lines but i wasnt quite sure the process

                      1. @ryanjjjj I caused the flashing lights by connecting the drive's "activate" pin to step as well. It's supposed to go to ground, but this looks much nicer.

                        1. @techdisk yeah it does, i wonder if you could get a good humming sound with some cd drives added

Thursday, 09-May-13 05:06:39 UTC from web
                          1. @ryanjjjj I don't know if CD drives have the same capability. You need stepper motors. Besides, CD drives are still useful.

              2. @ryanjjjj I think we are going to be good friends. You seem to be knowledgeable about computer hardware, my favourite subject.
