I dislike the categories of computers it's like gaming reasonable category, laptop reasonable category, pcs eh I guess it's a little bit reasonable, desktop ... NO THAT'S THE SECOND USER INTERPHASE OF WINDOWS, they could have just called it a uh tower or somethig... I guess even though that's just the put together computer if it's meant to stand up... I AM CONFUSING MULYSELF

@thepinkiepiex The only one that doesn't make much sense is the 'PC' category, seems really generic. Desktop category though? Literally nothing but desktops. Makes much more sense.

@flamingpandaomg pc = personal computer, a linux is not personal it can have thousands of people loged in at once, I just find desktop strange because I grew up calling the "screen" after you login in windows desktop

@thepinkiepiex PC is just a generic term for a computer of any kind. Doesn't mean it's only available to one person.

@flamingpandaomg I've never really called computers pc because it sounds weird to me also it does mean the personal computer that's the reason I use to not call it that, and the only reason I put the description in this sentence was to explain btw, I just don't wanna make you mad if you would get mad from that

@thepinkiepiex I wouldn't get mad from it, just that your definitions weren't correct. PC - Personal computer = any computer, laptop desktop or what have you. Desktop - computers that are made up of towers that are supposed to stay stationary. Etc. etc.

@flamingpandaomg wait I believe you have something wrong here, a tower is simply another term for desktop except instead of laying down it stands up but I'll search it up, maybe I'll search something new ^_^

@thepinkiepiex No. It's a commonly used term, but it's not an accepted term by the IT industry.

@thepinkiepiex And that was needed why? LMGTFY is the most dickish website I've ever seen. Honestly.

@flamingpandaomg what I just like using that website I seem to have forgotten google has a URL too
Friday, 28-Jun-13 17:19:15 UTC from web-
@thepinkiepiex I forgot the xD at the end
Friday, 28-Jun-13 17:19:37 UTC from web -
@thepinkiepiex It's the way LMGTFY goes about it. It was made for people to be a kiwi to people who frequently ask them questions when Google is right there. Otherwise it wouldn't have cheeky remarks like 'Gee, that wasn't so hard, was it?' at the end.

@flamingpandaomg well I wasn't trying to be mean I already saud the only reason I use it is just because I like it
Friday, 28-Jun-13 17:27:46 UTC from web-
@thepinkiepiex I never said you were trying to be mean? Just that LMGTFY has a bad premise.

@flamingpandaomg most likely the reason why the term is not used in the it industry is because often young people may use pc as the main term for ANY computer, wich is unacceptable also using a term such a's pc for any computer may also not go with teaching methods since most often you have to use the original terms for things
Friday, 28-Jun-13 17:17:02 UTC from web-
@thepinkiepiex but PC IS an acceptable term. That's why I'm confused that you're not getting that. The IT industry's terms change often because the technology changes every couple years. Trust me if you have classes in a professional IT class, you would understand.

@flamingpandaomg I didn't mean pc isn't an acceptable term for everything just certain classes like computer classes, oh and I use to be in a computer class over at my old elementary wich I was way ahead of them in since they were just taking apart and putting together computers while my dad use to work at baker and he was teaching me, also he still has his textbooks from when he learned so, yeah but trust me I didnt learn a thing from the elementary I don't even know why I brung that up xD

@vt3c no. a desktop is a desktop. A tower is just the name for the actual computer. A tower isn't it's own category.
