Just looking at the observer article on Bronies again, their estimate of "1600 active Bronies" here in the states seems way off. Trying to get a better idea of how many of us there are, I looked up the site info for EqD, and it gets 38k unique visitors per month. Making a bunch of big round guesses from there, if you assume half are international, half again are people who get linked there once and aren't regulars, and half of the remaining are duplicates due to people using their phones and such, that still leaves nearly 5k Bronies, without trying to factor in ponibooru, ponychan, or any of the other pony devoted sites.

@mox Probably so, I'm not familiar with the inner workings of the web, and was doing a lot of the math in my head, so I guessed pretty conservatively. Between ponychan, ponibooru, derpyhooves.com, RDN, DA, and the various gaming groups and clans, it's probably much higher. I'd like to see a good census on Bronies, but I don't know how you'd be able to make it happen, there's too many sites and no one place that would give an accurate estimate. I could try and pull the whois data on all of them, but the overlap would make the data meaningless. Trying to gauge the 4chan section of the community would be even more frustrating. I personally have never been there, but I've heard things.
