Are there any disadvantages in Emarald if you have a female Pokémon, I know it does in gen 2

@pokestrike There's never been a disadvantage unless you consider more chances to be hit by attract.

@flamingpandaomg Actually, in gen 2, female Pokémon had a lower attack stat

@pokestrike you show me where there's any proof of that.

@pokestrike regardless that's not applying to you since you're playing a Gen 3 game.

@flamingpandaomg Actually in Gen 2, being female meant that you had more stats. the way they decided the gender of a Pokemon was based on their stats, so lets say that a pokemon has a 90% chance to be male, and 10% chance to be female. only the worst 10% of that Pokemon will be female.

@rarity That makes no sense but if multiple people are saying the same thing, who am I to disagree

@flamingpandaomg that's just how they decided to calculate gender is all.

@rarity yeah I guess I wasn't old enough when Gen 2 came out to really care besides that I could breed.

@rarity so really, it's not that because they're female, they have bad stats, it's that if they have bad stats, they are female.
