@citrusrain Windows has been open-sourced since Microsoft tried to get people to "like" MS-DOS 5.0 over version 3.3 which fits neatly on a couple of 360k floppy disks.

@citrusrain Collect hardware; do what you need to do to get it running; get it to run Linux and Apache and mod_php; upgrade from Redhat OSX Windows 7 to 32-bit XP with SP3; install and modify GTA San Andreas; ... profit.

@citrusrain Linux was created, because PC-DOS was made for Personal Computing, and Unix was made for commercial enterprise, and BSD was made for education but was too restrictive for education for commercial enterprise in education and personal computing.

@fnordly Windows is like a gateway. It is a system which shouldn't be muddle with, unless you know what you are doing and are willing to go without gaming as you get it adjusted to what you think your operating system should be like from your perspective as a gamer and user of apps.
