  1. On the subject of toys but an unrelated question, is anyone else's Toys R Us out of ponies at the moment? I mean the individual mane six characters. All I'm missing is a Twilight, but none of the stores I've had contact with could tell me if they were getting any more ponies, which I thought odd.

    1. @zachariastargazer I'm not afraid of it, I just find it unnecessary.

    2. @drewdle Strange. Perhaps Hasbro is destroying ponies to create more demand.

    3. @zachariastargazer Nothing to fear. It's a toy store. Nobody laughs at a girl for looking at Lego Technics sets. So whatevers. I'm not really a toy collector, but I generally like having figurines from cartoon shows I enjoy. Thus, ponies. And Invader Zim. And Reboot. And maybe I collect toys. *sigh*

    4. @drewdle That's odd, everywhere but Meijer seems pretty good about stocking individual ponies. Trying to get a Toys R Us exclusive though, I know from experience that no one knows what they're talking about as far as inventory. Whatever the first date they tell you is for a re-stock, it's wrong.

      1. @eaglehooves I'll keep that in mind. None of them seemed to know how the store worked. I talked to the second-in-command.

        1. @drewdle I read an item number directly off their site to them over the phone, and they told me the product didn't exist. Then someone higher up figured out it does actually exist, then gave me a re-stock day about two weeks later than the person in the store had given me earlier that month.

    5. @abigpony Late reply, but you can tell when Bronies have gone through; all the miniatures and brushables are gone, all the baby ponies and pinkistas are still on the shelf.

    6. @abigpony First time I bought anything, that was exactly the picture, with only a few of the four packs left. From then on I've suspected there's some Bronies around me still in the stable.

    7. @abigpony I don't know why, but that's a slippery slope. First it was a four pack, then my favorite of the mane 6, then an RD brushable to go with a project, then the rest of the mane 6, and onwards...

    8. @drewdle did you try Target?

    9. @abigpony Takes practice. First time I snuck through a self-check. Then I bought one in person and quietly took the gift receipt I knew I wouldn't use. Now I'm finally confident enough that I put my big Pinkie plush on the counter and told the clerk "not a gift, keep it" when they tried to hand me the second receipt.

    10. @abigpony It was from the toy section of a Meijer, which is about 50% grocery store 50% everything else. As for the second point, I'm 18 and the Toys R Us is in a mall that gets traffic from all over this side of Columbus, so if anyone remembers me out of that crowd they'd probably chalk it up to teenage prank rather than that.

    11. @abigpony Based out of Michigan, actually. My little town is located right at the junction of two of the three biggest freeways in central Ohio, and just outside the capital, so unless you shop at the family stores in the old part of town (none of which carry ponies), people won't remember you.
