I had a dream last night that the CMC got their cutie marks, but they weren't the CMC, they were different. the purple one's cutie mark was a sun.

@nightwillow Uhm... elaborate for us? :)
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 14:48:41 UTC from web-
@koen that's all I remember. one of the CMC was purple. she had a cutie mark. except that she was wearing a dress that covers the area up, so I had to move that aside to see it. also, they were tiny.

@nightwillow wasth thou a pony? i envy everyone who's gotten a pony dream where they're a pony xD ... don't ask why it'd just be full'f a lot of win :)
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 14:52:37 UTC from web-
@koen no. I was a human. or, at least, I think I had fingers. hands actually don't work properly in dreams.
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 14:53:39 UTC from web-
@nightwillow true, i actually can't recall a moment where i could see my hands in a dream. let alone use them
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 14:54:41 UTC from web-
@koen looking at your hands is actually a great reality check for dreams. (reality checks are what you use to identify whether or not you are dreaming, which can enable lucid dreams)

@nightwillow i will try tonight ... if i can remember to xD

@koen oh, and before you give Lucid dreaming an actual try, be sure to keep a dream diary. you should get to the point where you are remembering at least 1 dream a night for 10 straight nights.

@nightwillow alright :3 ... i'm off to sleep now actually :) .... wish me luck, i'll probably say if it works... night y'all
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:09:54 UTC from web-
@koen it probably won't. I tried for a good 4 months, and only succeeded twice. i've all but given up. I don't even really update my dream diary anymore
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:12:11 UTC from web-
@nightwillow it worked when i got trashed... or it was while i was awake, but just drunk :P either way it was awesome (SLEEP NAO) :)

@mrbrown good luck mate!

@mrbrown I might have to try this as well. I've realized I was dreaming before, but every time the reality check hits, I wake up. Never been expecting it, though.

@eaglehooves that's common for newbies. you get excited that you are in a lucid dream, and your increased heart rate wakes you up. a good way to... solidify the dream is to spin around in circles.

@nightwillow I didn't prep or plan anything. I remember being in my room, seeing the furniture didn't match up (I had a TV that I don't actually own, everything else was right), and it clicked somehow.

@mrbrown some good ones are a) try to stick your fingers through the palm of your other hand, B) count your fingers, C) try to remember how you got where you are, and D) hold your nose and try to breathe through it.

@mrbrown I'm not saying that qi doesn't exist, but if it does, it's probably not some mystical force. it's just dopamine, from meditation.
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:35:50 UTC from web -
@mrbrown do you have lucid dreams?
-
@mrbrown of course it works, it's just psychiatry and biochemistry
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:40:40 UTC from web -
@mrbrown now just realizing you are dreaming, but becoming able to control the dream. With total dream control you can keep yourself asleep or wake yourself up from within the dream.

@elind85 and do whatever the bananas you want in the meantime.

@nightwillow All my pony dreams so far have been of people I don't want to know finding out I'm a Brony, but sure.

@eaglehooves like I said to @mrbrown

@mrbrown it's not necessarily about dreaming you are a pony, but just lucid dreaming in general
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:49:17 UTC from web -
@mrbrown there are methods to increase dream retention, such as keeping a notepad by your bed and recording your dreams when you wake up before moving around.
-
@mrbrown Huh?
Thursday, 18-Aug-11 15:55:11 UTC from web -
@mrbrown I don't remember details, but there was one where it was pretty realistic (not fun) and once when it happened in some silly over the top way. Should have seen that one was a dream...

@mrbrown I was just wondering what @stumperman07 had to do with anything. And I've had dreams of other big secrets of mine coming out at one point or another. Seems to happen a few times then my mind gets over it for a long while.
