  4. @egnaroesroh It's humiliating to make it in the first place. It's not as if I don't know better.

  5. @egnaroesroh I was just being a psychiatrist. I was going to imply its because you're in love with your mother

  6. @egnaroesroh Interesting point about character relations, there. I'll add that what attracts me to characters is not so much identification with them, but watching them develop. Either in depth, as the author explores them, or watching them mature and grow as the story progresses.

  7. @egnaroesroh That was a smoke break. ツ

  8. @egnaroesroh The microblogs are a format I'm not used to, like most of the web social networks these days. They're engineered for a younger generation. I'm _old_, for the Internet. 18 years online, now. I'm used to Usenet, or IRC, or something where discussion threading is either contextual or more logical. *sigh*

  10. @egnaroesroh Drat. Been replying to myself. I'm not really an idiot, I swear. Incidentally, if I'm killing timelines with something as simple as alt characters and text replacement, they deserve to die so something more durable can grow in their place. ツ

  13. @egnaroesroh Or... maybe you're right. I'm going by what Character Viewer tells me, but it could be wrong. It's been a long time since I flunked Japanese II. ツ

  16. @egnaroesroh I think my difficulty lies in comparing, say, Pinkie Pie to a college-aged young woman. Of course my image of all the mane 6 is skewed by the aesthetic differences between humans and cartoon ponies, but even Cheerilee looks and behaves older than Rarity or Fluttershy

  17. @egnaroesroh Huh. I just happened to think of it when Tribute got shuffled in on my way to work. It was the "Nay" part.

  20. @egnaroesroh Yeah, that's a valid question too.. where do we draw the line, and with another species no less? Still, in my culture 21-year-olds are called woman/man much less often than simply girl/guy. It's not incorrect to say "woman," but it sometimes throws me to hear it.. giving me the impression that she's at least 24. In the U.S. we're not even allowed to rent a car until we're 25.

  23. @egnaroesroh I see your point, but a large part of me doesn't want to recognize that fact. Faust described their behavioral maturity as being anywhere from 12-18 and reasoned that although they /are/ "young adults" they're only that way physically because equines mature physically much faster than humans.

  24. @egnaroesroh I just notice that several fans refer to them as mares, which doesn't seem accurate to me. (not like it's a big deal or anything.. it just bugs me a little.)

  27. @egnaroesroh Only partially- you're talking about recoding to work with something that was added, I'm talking about the recoding being the only thing without anything added elsewhere.

  28. @egnaroesroh @toksyuryel What's the language to learn for my first? I've been told it's C#, but Java holds your hand too much. I'm also thinking on the basis of what language is best for writing a MMO.

  29. @egnaroesroh Sometimes it's that, and sometimes the change IS recoding an already built section to make it do something it couldn't quite do before.

  30. @egnaroesroh I think that statement underestimates precisely how amazing Halo actually was at the the time (and to a very real extent, still is)
