  3. @foxox maybe you should do the talking. I kinda look like a stoner/rapist... @citrusrain Just so we don't make a really bad gaffe in the video, is it Mrs. Young or something else?

  4. @citrusrain so i heard your mom is forbidding the whole !pittsbronies meetup, but I think I have a plan that doesn't involve being sneaky. If I were to throw together a video of a CMUBronies meetup, it might give her an idea of what we're really all about. We have a decent sized group and there's even a couple girls who show up. Do you think it would help?

  6. @nightwillow quick search says salaries range from 20-60k a year, which isn't fantastic, but it's a comfortable living. There's certainly no shame in being a blue collar worker (say skilled laborer. It sounds better). Are you good enough? Maybe. If you enjoy it, and don't find it difficult, you'll certainly be able to learn How to be good enough. Not that I'm determined to send you into the welding field or anything though. That's your decision. It's also worth noting that you don't have to do only your job. Maybe you could be an indie game developer on the side. I know a guy who's making a good bit of money from a Windows phone game he made in his frree time. Ah well. I'll stop manipulating you now. ARRIVEDERCI! *poof

  7. @nightwillow (2/2) There's no need to hide the truth from your dad. I don't know the guy, so I can't say he won't be disappointed with your decision. What I can say is that he'll be more disappointed if you get stuck in a career you're not happy with. As the Cutie Mark Crusaders endlessly demonstrate, finding out what you're supposed to do takes time, and surprisingly often gets you covered in tree sap. It's worth taking the time to see what feels right. PS long haired bro? Respect! *brohoofs screen

  8. @nightwillow (1/2)I remember doing this. I started freshman year in Architecture so determined that it would be awesome. It. Sucked. Balls. I hated the teachers, the workload, and didn't really make many friends. I reached a point where I could either stay in architecture and fail out of school or transfer to something else. After a long process, I'm now in Civil Engineering, and I'm really glad I made the switch. Point is, you should sort this out now before the last minute. You need to ask yourself whether you hate the subject matter or just how the class is taught. If you genuinely enjoy programming/whatever courses you're taking, it might be worth it to tough them out, and hope for better, more interesting courses next year. If you don't like them, however, no amount of trying will make you like them, and it's time for a switch. I wouldn't hastily rush into a welding career though. That's something you should talk over with friends and family, particularly your father. (Cont'd)

  9. !pittsbronies So I've been playing around with an idea in my head. Is anyone interested in brony paintball? I don't know when, or where, or how, or what, but if anypony's interested, let me know. There's at least one indoor place around Pittsburgh, but I'd like to do something before it gets too cold.

  11. @cyl Aww well maybe next time. I think if we go to Dave and Buster's, shopping in some flutterage at the Street Fighter II machine might be appropriate.

  13. Just came out of the stable in front of my family. I've never really made an effort to hide my bronyism, but when my sister asked me about my Rainbow Dash shirt at dinner today, I finally let everyone know I watch and genuinely like a show about ponies. It really wasn't as bad as I expected. My parents didn't seem to mind, in fact they got quite a laugh out of the word "brony." Apparently one of my sister's facebook friends has been posting pony stuff lately, and now she understands that he's probably a brony too. If you're comfortable with who you are, then there's no need to hide from it. And there is no shame in ponies. NONE.
