  1. @nightwillow (1/2)I remember doing this. I started freshman year in Architecture so determined that it would be awesome. It. Sucked. Balls. I hated the teachers, the workload, and didn't really make many friends. I reached a point where I could either stay in architecture and fail out of school or transfer to something else. After a long process, I'm now in Civil Engineering, and I'm really glad I made the switch. Point is, you should sort this out now before the last minute. You need to ask yourself whether you hate the subject matter or just how the class is taught. If you genuinely enjoy programming/whatever courses you're taking, it might be worth it to tough them out, and hope for better, more interesting courses next year. If you don't like them, however, no amount of trying will make you like them, and it's time for a switch. I wouldn't hastily rush into a welding career though. That's something you should talk over with friends and family, particularly your father. (Cont'd)
