  1. @rainbowdashsboyfriend good luck with that. but in all seriousness, you are acting like this is something huge. it's just a tv show, you aren't coming out of the closet ;)

  2. @rainbowdashsboyfriend didn't say they weren't intelligent, just that they were weird. if they are intelligent, then they should be able to process the idea of you liking a tv show under the merits that it is well made

  3. @rainbowdashsboyfriend your parents sound unreasonably weird...

  4. @rainbowdashsboyfriend that would work too!

  5. @rainbowdashsboyfriend i think you are overreacting to the whole situation. I'm watching "Feeling Pinkie Keen" on my tv, with my roommate in the next room. It's not a big deal. If you want to drop a hint on facebook like that, then just post a well made PMV of a good song. Noone is gonna watch a whole episode, but people will listen to music ;)

  6. @rainbowdashsboyfriend that facebook thing is likely your best shot. Change your status to "I'm 20% cooler" or something, and go up from there. If your parents actually use a computer or facebook (mine don't, so this didn't help at all for me) they will find out eventually through comments or something.

  8. @rainbowdashsboyfriend if you really want, you could bring up an old episode and deliberately watch it at a time they can see you. Main point is: let them start the conversation.

  9. @rainbowdashsboyfriend if you gonna go that route, start by posting a (well made) PMV or something first. just to gauge the responses.

  11. @rainbowdashsboyfriend i say dont worry about it unless it comes up. they'll have to walk into you watching it before it will be worth explaining. no reason to be ashamed of it at all though, but what you watch really isn't anypony's business

  12. @rainbowdashsboyfriend then watch it on a computer or something.

  13. @rainbowdashsboyfriend to be honest, they will be alot more weirded out if you go right up and tell them directly. My parents know, but only because they asked me When they saw me watching an episode. If you hear them talking about "this new pony thing on the internet", that would be the perfect time to tell them and to dispel any internet bred myths, giving them the truth about bronydom.

  14. @rainbowdashsboyfriend Bring it up in conversation. Or mention that the internet has this thing for ponies going round

  15. @rainbowdashsboyfriend I would also take techdisk42's opinion. Maybe don't outwardly tell them, but when they find out don't be ashamed, you have no reason to. Explain to them why you like it, I'm sure they won't be mad, at worst they might find it silly, but parents do that sometimes. I'm sure you'll be fine, I consider myself manly, and there are many a manly brony out there, so tell that to your father if that is a concern.

  16. @rainbowdashsboyfriend Do it. At least you'd be able to live with yourself. And what can they do about it?

  17. @rainbowdashsboyfriend well, to echo @scribusstatham, why do you feel the need to tell them? This isn't something that you really "tell someone" in that way. Just watch it, and if they see you watching it and ask what's up tell them.

  19. @rainbowdashsboyfriend What are they gonna do? Disown you for watching a cartoon? Seriously, the worst they could possibly do is make you explain it. Anytime I've told my family about things, they just use it to make fun of me.... loving family I have. I haven't told them about MLP:FiM, because frankly there is no point, it's none of their business.

  20. @rainbowdashsboyfriend personally, I didn't hide it, but I didn't tell anyone either. The easiest way to stop hiding it is to only stop hiding it, and not directly tell. If they ask you, then you tell them. For example, if your watching the newest episode, don't hide that fact, but don't blurt out that you are watching it. Does that make sense?

  21. @rainbowdashsboyfriend Tell them, mine were shocked at first, but it gets better with time. lol

  22. @rainbowdashsboyfriend It depends on your parents 100%. If you think there's a chance that they will be weirded out, then they probably will and you shouldn't tell them. But if you think it's more likely they won't care, go ahead.

  24. @rainbowdashsboyfriend Yeah. If you're pretending to be someone you're not (I'm not even talking about the metaphorical "trying to please others" form; I'm saying "you're pretending to be Rainbow Dash") then you're roleplaying. Just in case it needed cleared up.

  25. @rainbowdashsboyfriend Referring to someone named "Scootaloo" who wants an "autographed picture of Rainbow Dash" is roleplay.

  26. @rainbowdashsboyfriend Roleplay is not alllowed on the main site. Go to rp.rainbowdash.net for that.

  29. @rainbowdashsboyfriend # I mean well, like, umm... Yes I am Princess Cadence. I hate Queen Chrysalis. I prefer to be called Princess Cadence because her name is more royal than Luna or Celestia... Also, Cadence deals with music... I ♥ music. **back into character** #
