@pony @shadowblaze Oh, you're Aussie? And in my state too! Hiya Shadow :) And night night, too tired xD

@shadowblaze The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (unofficially the "Mormon" church) proselytes (and sends non-preaching service missionaries) across the globe in every country we're legally allowed to do so. Consequently we attract a variety of folks, but it's still a pretty small number in comparison to the majority.
-
@shadowblaze A good portion of us are irreligious, but because of the higher than usual percentage of religious people here, The irreligious folks sometimes rightly feel discriminated against.
-
@shadowblaze Utah is only heaven if you meet those requirements. Otherwise you're second class.
-
@ceruleanspark @shadowblaze I grew up an East coast saint/Mormon so I'm actually pretty normal. I'd say most saints outside of Utah are just like normal religious folks if not better, but inside Utah some feel excluded even if they're friends of other faiths. The advantage of being a brony, however, is that you'll be included in meetups at least.
-
@shadowblaze it's partly because a huge part of our populatio, like myself, is pretty religious and conservative and sometimes tramples liberals unwittingly. Most youngsters seem to have a problem with that.
-
@shadowblaze If you're a white, straight, american, mormon
-
@shadowblaze It depends on how comfortable you felt with Utah culture. You might love it, but a lot of people who arent' used to it find it get's old fast.
-
@shadowblaze by which I mean the bugs won't eat you whole here.
-
@shadowblaze then again, you're in Australia if your profile is correct, so you may not regret it at all.
-
@shadowblaze you would only regret moving here slightly!
-
@shadowblaze can't afford to bring VAs to our conventions, but we have a goo time regardless.
-
@shadowblaze quite a few. Utah has the highest number of bronies per capita in the world according to a survey thing.. We don't have as much money and can
-
@shadowblaze There are folks here who play on steam and use skype a lot, but I'm not one of them. I like that RDN is public social site that I can access from any browser (though IE was kinda sucky last I checked). I wouldn't use FB even except that most people in my area use it to organize brony meetups.
-
@shadowblaze maybe once every couple weeks
-
@shadowblaze It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's nice once you're used to it
-
@pony @shadowblaze the DM*
-
@shadowblaze to receive to DM I sent you scroll over your user name at the top right of the screen and click inbox. You'll find my skype there.

@shadowblaze yeah here newponies are treated nicely usually. Every so often we'll get one who just won't use the "in context" and reply system even after it's been explained multiple times to them and they've been asked to use it. But you're fine.
-
@shadowblaze We've all been there.
-
@shadowblaze seems like you've got the hang of it. Some users don't know how to use the reply button. xD
-
@shadowblaze yeah no problem. We're used to newponies around here.
-
@shadowblaze to accept my DM you'll need to subscribe to me by clicking my user name then the subscribe button.
-
@shadowblaze I do but I very rarely use Skype because bleh.. I much prefer here. Anyway I'll Direct Message you my user name if you like.
-
@shadowblaze also, I'm fine with answering any questions you might have.
-
@shadowblaze It was the beginning of Legends of Equestria basically. http://equestriaonline.com/ Their site explains the history. Like I said, most of the team reformed to make LoE which is still going. LoE's design team leader /did/ just quit (due to real life and busy etc.), and that created a stir among fans asking how the project would go on, but there's been no sign that the game has stopped development as far as i can tell. You can read about it if you want to on their forums.
-
@shadowblaze The founder of Equestria Online had some conflict with the team and they wanted him to step down but he didn't so they split and brought most of their resources to a newly christened project, Legends of Equestria. There's also another pony MMO in the works that looks cool, but I don't know how likely it will be to succeed since it's still very new. http://www.raynarongames.com/#!gou/c1xn9
-
@shadowblaze Well LoE is still in development, but Equestria Online, it's predecessor, is not.
-
@shadowblaze They're slow going with development and keeping the servers running would mean they might never finish the game. I'm kind of worried they might not finish it anyway. I applied for their team but got no response so I'm guessing they're being picky about who helps out.
