The trial wasn't about the licensing of the # code itself (which is where licenses like # or a proprietary # might matter), # was suing about # mimicking the Java APIs in a Java-like clone. ORCL is spewing steer manure in an attempt to divide those who stood against their copyright maximalism. You can already write an API-compatible clone of a GPL program and license it as you please if you don't want to have to comply with the GPL, so nothing changes.
