  14. Have you guys noticed *Security Updates Guide (SUG)*? I didn't before today. I don't know where I've been hiding, but this was news to me. So I assume someone else has also missed this important change.

No more security bulletins. Just database where you can look for things and one big 'update packet', no more individual patches.

Ok, doesn't make any difference in most of cases. But in some cases, this is a big change. At least many of my tech friends didn't especially like this change. Even if I can personally understand why it's beneficial to have 'one version' instead of something partially patched and then complaining that something isn't working.

  20. After some real life experience, it seems that the # # is so crappy protocol, it doesn't ever ping the clients. This means that all the banned hosts are left as lingering active TCP connections. It seems that Microsoft has shipped total amateur / hobbyist code as production stuff. That's kind of awesome, because I don't ever need to shame any of my my ad hoc code ever again.

  24. @capngloval I'm a bit skeptical still. # has historically done much to harm #, and # + # in particular. For example, requiring a distribution to sign its releases with MSFT signed key in order for (most) people to replace the OS on hardware they own.

I'm in favor of signing and hashes, but user / owner should decide whose keys to trust, not Microsoft.
