@algot true. Once @wogan adds support for other #OStatus servers (#GNUSocial etc), it could be a place to jump into the wider #Fediverse too

@wogan so far I only know of one other live app (#Friendica) that supports #OStatus in a way compatible with #GNUSocial and the #Fediverse

@wogan I think the actual #Diaspora protocol is a variant of #OStatus but not compatible with the #GNUSocial #Fediverse use of OStatus?

Oh boy, Evan Prodromou (of #StatusNet / #Pump / #OStatus fame) showed up on #Diaspora's GitHub Issue tracker and asked that we support #ActivityPub

It's a nice thought, and hopefully we can do that in the long term. But some part of me is apprehensive about the spec and the leg work it will take to support it.

There are certain unanswered questions, such as "Will ActivityPub support Diaspora's federated privacy controls?"

@igor La liste des membres du Parti Pouet n'est disponible qu'au camarade secrétaire du bureau du peuple (nous-même), #Mastodon ne disposant pas de fonctionnalité telle que !gnusocial pour afficher l'annuaire des affilié·e·s. Mais puisque #Mastodon applique la ligne #OStatus, il est possible pour toi de faire des groupes affinitaires avec les membres de Pouet en inscrivant ton identifiant du !troupeau dans l'abonnement à distance (comme pour n'importe quelle instance GNU social, StatusNet…). Je n'y dis pas grand chose, je reste fidèle au canal historique du !troupeau mais tu peux m'y retrouver ici : https://pouet.it/@gllmhyt

@thrrgilag @nds Has that #Friendica instance turned on #OStatus support? There's an admin option that can be set during setup (and I expect any time afterward).

@zatnosk @kat Adding private messaging, groups, access controls to the #OStatus standard should have happened years back, but with loss of advertising and VC funding, Evan turned to #Pump.IO (in part) to reduce his operating costs.
