so, it's #hammock time for me - although a bit chaotic I actually did a lot today (mostly non-computer stuff to leave Nikola at photo copying and scrubbing :)); retiring to my #hammock with NewScientist and some strawberries (leaving just enough for muesli tomorrow). !til how to create a list of bad blocks, and how to write all over a disk surface (usually to 'scrub' it, so it's called scrub) which *might* 'refresh magnetisation of bad blocks (I'll create another list after that so I can compare); the first test is 25% done now :(. I also sorted out the 'clone' of the disk with the bad blocks (and Photos backup WIP), and have gone back to rescuing photos from my old Photos HD. That's still nerve-wrackingly sloooooow. And I spent money to get free stuff because I'm booooooored. Not good. I'm tired anyway. so, goodnight !tzaf !fediverse!

well, 395211 MB copied, out of about 1.1TB... no errors so far, but every now and then it... *pauses*, or seems to: that suggests it has trouble reading some sectors, though it ultimately succeeds. nothing I can do about that,and I doubt if increasing clustersize on input would make a difference. so, off to my #hammock I go! good night !tzaf !fediverse! #tomorrow... ddrescue will still be running (at least, I hope it doesn't give up!) ;-)
