@nightbreak b-bu-bu-but I can be slow and useless too!

@nightbreak *shutter* I dodged that the first time around, my sis never liked ponies, but she got me with them recently. She knows I've seen FiM (She has no idea I'm this into it), and bought me a G4 Pinkie Pie as a gag gift. I was thrilled, until she sent me a G3 coloring book. She doesn't seem to grasp the difference.

@nightbreak Ah. I'm a child of the 90's who grew up with one of the worst TVs in the area (Living near a PBS tower killed the other stations in anything but perfect weather), so I missed a lot of that. Most of what I watched was Loony Tunes on tape, and I think I turned out ok.
-
@nightbreak That sounds like more unintentional nightmare fuel than even G4.

@nightbreak Did the original MLP series have as much cartoon violence as Friendship is Magic or any at all? I noticed quite a bit of that in the new series, e.g., when the ponies fight the manticore in the first episode, and when two ponies drop a piano on Twilight. (On an unrelated note, how in the world does a pony play a piano with hooves?) And that's another thing about bronies: the huge amount of fan content you guys put out (fanfiction, art, videos, music, etc.). As a fanfiction writer, what is it about Friendship is Magic that inspires you to create this content?

@nightbreak Thanks for the info. An obvious difference in quality (and style!) there. I presume these days Hasbro is also concerned with producing quality programming to drive viewers to their Hub network, rather than producing content solely to sell merchandise.
-
@nightbreak Interesting! From what I gather the majority of bronies are only fans of Friendship is Magic and have either no knowledge of or interest in previous iterations. Can you tell me in what ways this latest MLP cartoon differs from the previous ones? !ottawabronies

!ottawabronies @nightbreak @djmidli I'm focusing on why the cartoon has become this popular with a demographic so different from the target audience -- popular enough to spawn this brony subculture. Ideally real names would be used, but if there’s concern with that I’m willing to work around it. I do want to make it clear that I’m not out to portray bronies in a negative way. The premise just struck me as curious and I’m sure others would find it intriguing as well. I did commit myself to watching the entire first season when I decided to write this article; I think it’s a cute show with great production, characters and an interesting world. So the appeal is not lost on me :)

!ottawabronies @nightbreak Hehe, the thought of weather ponies above clearing the sky always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. :)
-
!ottawabronies @nightbreak THIS MUCH VOLUME WHEN ADDRESSING OUR SUBJECTS!
-
@nightbreak heh, I'm following you there.
-
@nightbreak I hope they do! Long as they don't make Luna pink as well. xD @iamderpy Who knows, if they group gets big enough one day, we'll have an outdoor showing! :P !ottawabronies
-
@nightbreak I remember that show! Though very vaguely. I looked it up again just now and had forgotten how much it reminded me of Rocky and Bullwinkle. Also !ottawabronies, Master Chief just met my newest roomates. He may have been slightly terrified. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v662/intelceleron/Photo0121.jpg

@nightbreak !ottawabronies You're right, those two definitely looks very pretty, Coconut Cream being my favourite of the whole bunch besides the Mane 6. Here's to hoping they do get a spot in the show, even in the background. @djmidli "You come, I have good deal in back. Many pony, cheap, very cheap." That's when you open the back of the van and Pinkamena pulls you in. D:

@nightbreak !ottawabronies From what I've heard its not avaliable here yet, but good call. I was hoping to order from a US site that sells it, just trying to find one that has reasonable shipping costs to Canada.
-
@nightbreak !ottawabronies Now THAT would be sweet :D *runs after it throwing money at it*
-
@nightbreak "will be a Timmy's" I'm not familiar with Canadian businesses, so I did a double-take at the name.
-
@nightbreak Rarity is passionate about gems themselves, as opposed to the bit value placed on them. Discord baited and switched her with something she was already passionate about, over the thing she actually needed
-
@nightbreak Look at it this way, now they can't feel guilty about them getting vanished.
-
@nightbreak I honestly wouldn't trust Rarity to not sell her Element off or embroider it on a new dress or marry it, even if my life depended on it.
-
@nightbreak more likely they surrendered them to her willingly, figuring they would be safer in her posession; they weren't wearign them by the time of Pinkie's insta-party
-
@nightbreak Anypony dealing with the origins of Luna and Celestia as well
-
@nightbreak I think about 4 that I'm still interested in.
-
@nightbreak I have; I left the EoH in the posession of the Mane six. Oh well; alternate mythos anyways, or I can say that the EoH were given to Celestia after the incident <.<
-
@nightbreak Maxie sounds nice
-
@nightbreak is that only in canadia?
