@yuri Effectiveness means doing important stuff with less effort, or in less time, less energy consumption, etc. Advancemente means instead of just preservating the species, making it evolve, developing a higher intelligence, better physical traits, etc.

@yuri Yes, there are. It would be at least useful to find them, the aplications would be many. They could serve even to reconfigure predefined behavior. And then, with some study on a couple other things, enhance overall effectiveness of the brain itself.

@yuri You then have to apply genetic knowledge and disposition to work spheres. Some species are born with certain general knowledge, and humans are born with some degree of ease or difficulty in certain areas, probably asociated to family lines.

@scarves @yuri You both have very good points. The learning factor is probably what makes this whole thing difficult. Vanilla brains of the same or multiple species could be easily compared, but differences in experience and knowledge betweem individuals make all of this really hard.

@yuri You can compare them in terms of efficiency at basical tasks, but not in rational tought or abstraction. The way those things are done is determined by the species, and even within the same species there are differences between individuals.

@yuri There's no efficient way to measure overall intelligence, since it has to do with particular enviorments and spheres of influence. I, for example, am good with all technology, physics, philosophy, psychology; but with music and teaching I'm useless.

@yuri You have a point there. I define "level of intelligence" as the average of all abilities the subject has.

@yuri Intelligence is subject to metods and work fields. Like different OS, different people with the same intelligence level can be very good in one field and terrible in another.

@yuri this is something i thought of, there has to be something STRICTLY humans have in common that seperates us from other species...but the way i see it is everything sentient has some sort of reason so the only thing that makes us different is the fact we hyper-evolved first
