  15. @guttman hi

Thursday, 22-Nov-12 14:11:19 UTC from web in context
  16. @ceruleanspark But regarding opening up the service more. We're making our APIs all public when we've defined the whole spec and find it secure enough.

  17. @ceruleanspark Currently three servers, one each for sockets, web & persistance. We use an internal message queue (RabbitMQ) to get data around the different apps which are written in Node.js and Ruby.

Thursday, 22-Nov-12 13:00:09 UTC from web in context
  18. @ceruleanspark These have been topics brought up in the dev team recently. Considering we average on 300~ online users we need to start thinking about some proper funding if we want to the site to run smoothly.

  19. @abigpony Non-profit services man, you simply don't build native platforms for all mobile clients without any funding. I was very luck to get developers as dedicated and willing to commit as me.

Thursday, 22-Nov-12 12:48:38 UTC from web in context
  20. @abigpony It's still in beta. Email berwyn@cloudsdale.org if you want to opt-in with a reasonable explanation why you would be a valuable tester.

  21. @abigpony Pretty well, we've shipped the iOS app, made a pretty awesome GUI revision and released solid moderator tools for clouds.

  25. @redenchilada What is the bandwidth consumption for you guys using StatusNet?

Sunday, 23-Sep-12 23:46:15 UTC from web in context
  26. @widget @redenchilada What are you waiting for, get it online and it will improve the UX of this site tenfold :D:D:D:D

Sunday, 23-Sep-12 23:44:50 UTC from web in context
  27. @widget The implementation is not utalizing server-events to feed updates to the clients though, which is what I'm going at. Streaming on page-load is rarely really needed anyway.

Sunday, 23-Sep-12 23:43:36 UTC from web in context
  28. @redenchilada Statusnet for one would hugely benefit from any of those I mentioned.

Sunday, 23-Sep-12 23:41:19 UTC from web in context
  29. @redenchilada Haven't found any pre-existing codebase for anything that will give you the power of new and interesting web technologies though. Like Websockets or HTTP-streaming.

  30. @bitshift Hence is why I rather build my application on top of a framework like Ruby on Rails or Django that gives you the wheels, frame & engine and allows you to build the body and interior. While something like statusnet gives you a finished car you pretty much can only repaint and put fancy decals on.
