I really warmed up to the anime Dan Da Dan. At this point I'm looking forward to new episodes.

Worth noting that 1915 is the year Japan’s largest irl yakuza clan was established.

“Huh this game looks kind of int— …I’ve seen that overhead punch before” is more or less the entire track my thoughts took at Project Century’s announcement before the hype set in

Aw man.... I hope I can upgrade my PC until Project Century from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will be released.

Christmas D&D adventure idea: A monster that breaks into people's houses during winter solstice but it leaves its eggs under the tree. Usually nothing happens as the recipients are asleep and eat the eggs for breakfast. However when a group of outsiders (the players' characters) happen to observe break-ins the monster turns hostile. Also when the eggs aren't eaten until the end of day they hatch and the true horror can begin.

The Star Wars Skeleton Crew series is pretty solid. All the 3 episodes that are released so far are good. It shows more quality in story telling than most of the other streaming series. Andor is obviously better but that's almost an unfair comparison. The only irksome part is the almost real-life looking suburb that feels not very Star-Wars-y. I can guarantee it is on purpose and has lore reasons. I can glance over it because so far I don't feel like everything has purpose behind and doesn't appear to be random for the sake for being different.

The calendar printing season has begun. My mother gets her yearly request of a calendar with boxes that are as big as possible and with no date sharing the same box. Also I'm printing a calendar for myself for the garbage pickup for the next year. It helps greatly not to forget when to put out the trash bins. So far I only missed only one time because I forgot. Also I missed some on purpose because my plastic bin wasn't even quarter full and I was lazy.

Also Yagami (and Kaito’s) entries in the party database seem to genuinely stem from RGG just adding protagonists sequentially with each new game going back to Yakuza 6; Kiryu is 1, Majima is 2, Yagami is 3, Ichiban is 4, and his yakuza 7 party + Masumi Arakawa fills out the remainder before we suddenly start getting LJ side characters; seems the ones who follow you around worked internally like Y7’s party members even though most of them don’t ever join you in combat.

Jentry Chau on Netflix is a fine show. It has some neat qualities like the art style and a way not to make dumb characters. Selfishly motivated but understandable. The plot has some flaws but nothing appallingly terrible. Could be easily fixed if there were a little bit more "filler" episodes to flesh out some characters as some parts feel a little bit more rushed. I only really dislike the needle-drop music and most of the soundtrack. Not my style.

>finally figure out how the game decides what songs play for which leader during battle in which cities
>edit those entries according to the files’ numerical values so that Kasuga has the correct battle theme in Kamurocho rather than reusing his Yokohama battle theme as happens in vanilla
>no music during battle in any of the three cities for any character

(and Seonhee of course - interestingly, again, Yagami has an entry that goes unused, as do Kaito and the Genda Law employees)

while digging in the files i fixed a weird and mildly infuriating inconsistency where Nanba's full name is never written anywhere, in the UI or otherwise. Turns out the reason for this is because RGG literally just didn't write it down in the party.bin file. Everyone else's full name is there except for Nanba.

...Lotta references to Yagami/his moveset in some of these files. ...hmmm

Haruka now replaces Chitose rather than Saeko for the simple reason of her default job skills make more sense. UI replacement is next.

Wrote a terminal program for creating playlists. It does the job but could be more streamlined and not yet ready to automatically create playlists for all albums. Right now I can specify a folder and grabs all its files and assembles them to a m3u playlist. To my dismay my mp3 player ignores the #EXTINF tag when listing the tracks. Instead it shows the whole path, which makes it harder to see the track name.

Due to my FiiO X1 MP3 player not being able to scan the whole SD-card to generate the music database I have to resort to manually creating playlists. I need it as the file structure of many folders has subfolders for each disc. The worst thing is that when I open the .m3u playlist generated by VLC the player only accepts the paths to the files only as absolute paths and there cannot be any "HTML"-coded strings like %20 for a space character. I guess I have to write my own little program to automate it a bit as all solutions I saw involved using a program and doing manual edits anyway.

Watched "Uncle from another world" and the last season of "Beastars" on Netflix. Honestly Uncle from another world was way more enjoyable than Beastars.

There was a Scooby Doo movie a few years back that included a lengthy scene where they intercut a conversation with computer generated shots of the Mystery Machine moving through traffic and that was kind of goofy but at least there was TRAFFIC

Like the background is a separate render composited behind the car anyway, you could put LITERALLY anything back there
about 7 months ago from web -
it always bugs me in animated shows when car scenes involve two characters talking to each other for a minute or more with no stops, no traffic, barely a passing car, just moving in a straight line while the CGI equivalent of a Flintstones background passes behind them. Add an intersection somewhere. Goddamn.

A shocking amount of it works out of the box by simply unlocking the party leader slot

-Saeko, and presumably most other characters, have their own dialogue box walla! When speaking to other characters she has sound bites she’ll pull out (“Hey,” “Mhmm?” “I see,” etc). That will make things much easier down the line as I don’t have to edit Kasuga’s.
