@awl mind you, whoever put us on the block list that lists us as being a “pro-nazi/alt-right” space has clearly never been to the site or read the rules. Not have they, I might add attempted to communicate with me.

For the people who care about federation (Probably just @nerthos and @awl) I have no idea why it isn’t working. This is actually a new server, at a new hosting provider and a functionally fresh install of RDN’s version of statusnet. So unless DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, or the other instances themselves are blocking us (or them), there’s no particular reason why it *shouldn’t* work.

@awl It wasn't terrible, really. I found it disappointingly mediocre. One of those "I'd like it better if it was bad enough to laugh at" things. More of the same, more or less. And now I'm wondering if it would be worse to say a film sucked or a film was pointless...

@awl No, probably not. I was under the impression that only broke if you changed the site's name or URL schema. We've moved a bunch of times before without it breaking before.

@awl It really comes down to whether you would rather have a potentially incompetent asshole in the position, or have NOBODY in the position and essentially guarantee that all of our current problems escalate.

@awl In fairness, they probably only got half of it. I'd already made sandwiches for today, had some toast for breakfast over the weekend. But I still woke up to far less bread than when I went to sleep.

@awl Well the day started with the discovery that my roommates had eaten almost all of my new loaf of bread... Fortunately I did have enough for breakfast and had already made lunch last night.

@awl I just looked up at a German car-dealing website, on which people can offer their car for sale, and found out that about 37% of all cars there are automatic. I thought this number would be lower.

@awl it's a completely public space and i can only assume an individual could get up there for free without hassle
