@pony Well but Celestia can use all six. It's safe to assume Luna can do the same. I'm pretty sure they were just splitting the magic load.

@mrmattimation You may be right. Or maybe the respective elements were embodied to a greater extent in either sister and only after Luna had abandoned harmony altogether did the elements of necessity need to be controlled by only Celestia. We've seen that Spike is unable to power up the element of loyalty after all, so there must be some sort of requirement.
