@awlderpy Nah man, that's just the Middle East. And the Korean peninsula. And most of South America. And North Africa. And yeah pretty much everywhere that isn't North America and Western Europe.

@ceruleanspark although I don't wholely disagree with you I do think that some school fights are meaningful enough because I've seen and been in them and think they can cause serious issues.

@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual If someone gets hospitalised, or weapons get bought into the equation then yes, obviously the police need to be involved, but realistically, in this case, the decision to escalate to prosecution was because nobody wanted to make a call on what to do, so just passed it up the chain.

@scoot Yeah the term "drive-by shooting" when referring to a war in the 1940s totally didn't imply it was a joke or anything

@awlderpy I'm joking. Mostly. German U-Boats, however, did in fact shoot up some coastal towns in New England during the war.

@ceruleanspark i think most schools are required to call the police and the offended party is left to decide if they'd like to pursue prosecution so it's not really anyones fault as far as that goes.

@mrmattimation That's what made me unsure. Plus WWI, at least the States' involvementi it, was mostly due to the fact that U-boats were attacking ships that were transporting weapons.

@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual Ha. I never got the luxury of police involvement in my freshman year of high school. I got told by the principal that the physical abuse was my fault for being a doormat.

@mrmattimation It was a pretty underhanded method in that particular case, I think it prompted a whole set of laws not allowing that to happen. As if that really matters in war.
