The age of sexual consent is probably the least relevant age limit to people on this website.
-
@ceruleanspark ouch
-
@ceruleanspark I'm just making a point is all. If teenagers can make kids, teenagers should be able to drive.
-
@ceruleanspark ...HEY, WAIT A MINUTE
-
@mrmattimation You do realise driving endangers a lot more people than making babies right?
-
@ceruleanspark le ebin master ruse b8
-
@scoot Of COURSE I realize this. But by that logic, adults shouldn't be allowed to drive, either. We need to get around via horse and buggy because letting any person whatsoever behind the wheel of a car is simply far too dangerous.
-
@redenchilada What did you just say to me
-
@mrmattimation No, not "by that logic adults shouldn't be allowed to drive", where does this logic leap come from? It's letting young people with less experience and a higher tendency for recklessness and rash decisions that should not be behind the wheel.
-
@ceruleanspark I wish I could link to this website in real life
-
@scoot But rancidrob is arguing that we shouldn't GIVE young people the chance to GAIN experience. He wants to prevent unexperienced teenagers from driving, and in its place send unexperienced adults driving.
-
@mrmattimation Sounds good to me, learning to drive when you're wiser and more capable. Rancidrob sounds smart to me.
-
@scoot The legal system over here solves that issue by making anyone under 18 carry a permit that doesn't let them drive with more than one passenger or with someone who isn't a fully licensed driver (21 or older) for six months or so until they get the hang of it, and (at least in the two states whose laws regarding driving I'm familiar with) restricting their license until they're 18.
-
@redenchilada Actually seems pretty good, I'm relatively sure we don't have anything like that. We DO give them a special sticker on their car for their first year after passing their test so that people know they're a new driver.
