  1. Gee, so it turns out American history classes completely gloss over the part where Jim Bowie was a thief, slaver, and all-around asshole.

          2. @mrmattimation This was not an actual jab at Americans. I thought that was clear but it's becoming more and more obvious that it's not.

            1. @mrmattimation you my friend have run into my conundrum where you have been taken seriously.

        2. @thewaifutyphoon Ofcourse I meant the part that they "gloss over parts" ... not the actual list of what Jim Bowie did

          1. @critialcloudkicker Except they didn't gloss over any of the papayas that Nixon did.

            1. @thewaifutyphoon Were you there ? Do we know that European text-books hold a lot differenct content than what American ones do ? I was talking about that.

              1. @critialcloudkicker It takes a whopping .10 seconds to find one of several thousand different places pointing out every mistake Nixon did, let alone in classrooms where they taught about it.

                1. @thewaifutyphoon Ross you're American and that automatically invalidates everything you ever say ever.

          2. @critialcloudkicker Except they don't do that? Everything that Nixon did is absolutely common knowledge and is taught in American schools? Just like everything Clinton did? And Bush did?

            1. @mrmattimation Look, all I am saying is that a country generally speaking does not like to teach their own young ones how much assoholism and/or bad deeds were there before they grow old enough to read about it themselves, surely you got it, surely you got more stories of "look outside is bad" or "look how well we did" ... If that does not happen in your country, well, Guess then I know why the USA's education system sucks so much ( ofcouse that is a joke because I know really well why the USA's education system sucks )

              1. @critialcloudkicker No, they taught "hey look how we grapesed up and lets not do this again"

                1. @thewaifutyphoon Context for the same lesson will be different if you got it in another country

                  1. @critialcloudkicker Except we're not talking about a different country, we're talking about the US like you've stated several times.

                    1. @thewaifutyphoon Nope, you are. I am talking about the context of history as given by the host-country versus inside a forgein one

                      1. @critialcloudkicker You literally just got done saying "The US' education system is terrible because they avoid pointing out mistakes that the US had made" so how in the everloving papayas are you not talking about the US right now

Thursday, 10-Jul-14 18:11:48 UTC from web
                        1. @thewaifutyphoon Look at the context there bud

              2. @critialcloudkicker I really don't think you do. Your judgement is clouded by ignorance and a pre-cognitive bias against Americans, as you have demonstrated several times before.

Thursday, 10-Jul-14 18:10:21 UTC from web
                1. @mrmattimation Maybe, but I do not think that is the case. Can you really say that you do not think the context of history changes depending on what country you live in ? Do you not think that German people will have a whole other perspective ( or at least method ) towards the whole WW1 and WW2 history lessons in and around high-school era's ?

                  1. @critialcloudkicker The point you made is that America doesn't talk about Nixon's mistakes, and we literally just got done telling you that the Nixon administration was not at all glossed over in American education. We spend more time talking about Watergate than we do talking about Nixon's involvement in getting a man on the moon, for Christ's sake.
