Somebody who used to ride the special needs bus and recently got transferred to mine just opened up to me and my friend today. It took like a week to even convince her to get on the bus because she was so shy and now she's making conversation. That's brilliant.

@mrmattimation That's actually super heartwarming

@ceruleanspark @awlditzy She's really nice. Showed us some pictures from her trip to Six Flags. Have no idea why we were the people she started talking to. I guess because she's Muslim and so is my friend so that's kind of a jumping off point. Or maybe just because we happened to be there. I dunno.

@mrmattimation huh, was she in esl classes, as to why she was on a special needs?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:20:10 UTC from web-
@awlditzy I honestly don't know.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:20:54 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation either rate sounds better she is on your bus :)
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:23:26 UTC from web-
@awlditzy Hopefully the fact that she's getting more comfortable with Ali and I means that she'll start interacting with other people as well. I've been told her only other friends are within the department.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:24:50 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation sounds like a good stepping stone. She makes new friends as do the two of you.

@mrmattimation that is sweet.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:05:29 UTC from web -
@mrmattimation Although I have a hard time comprehending "bus". Its a heartwarming story.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:06:45 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker It's like a car but really long and with no seatbelts
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:08:44 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark More like... Here in the Netherlands you go to school by walking, bicycle, or public transportation. And although busses fall under PT, I do not see a special-needs kid to jump from special needs bus all the way to PT.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:10:34 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Well, not in 1 long reach jump anyway maybe multiple small jumps

@critialcloudkicker Or like a train with only one carriage that doesn't need rails and can just go wherever the driver wants
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:09:21 UTC from web -
@critialcloudkicker Or like an airliner but much smaller and it has no wings and can't fly and there's no refreshments or bathrooms.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:10:00 UTC from web -
@critialcloudkicker Or like, a miniature cruise ship with no cabins or lifeboats that only works on land
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:10:42 UTC from web -
@critialcloudkicker It's like a space shuttle but it explodes less, seats about 50 and doesn't go to space.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:11:31 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark ha, was just thinking there was a spacecraft angle in these.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:12:13 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark Does it have less volitile air marshals ?

@critialcloudkicker A bus is a vehicle used for public transport.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:15:07 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation soo, what, she went from a bus reserved for transporting special needs children from home to school and back again to becoming a member of the normal commuting people who go by bus ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:17:39 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker as in... overnight ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:17:51 UTC from web -
@critialcloudkicker I suppose? I've genuinely never spoken to her until today so I don't know the full details of that. Nor is it my place to ask.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:28:54 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation Hot dang, and here I was thinking it might be a transfer to one of those busses I see in dumb shows like South Park whom seem to be excusively boarded by people who need to go to a specific school... If you find out, commend her bravery, as in compliment.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:31:08 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Well, I mean, this bus DOES go to a specific school. There aren't kids from six different schools all hanging out in one bus, we'd be overcrowded.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:32:45 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation Just out of curiosity, in howbig of an area does this one bus operate till it is full ? As in pick up the kids from just 1 town with 15 stops ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:35:04 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Two stops in a single town are enough to fill the bus up.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:35:53 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation So... do some people have to walk at least half a mile from home to the bus stop ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:39:15 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker What? No. We have a lot of buses.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:41:13 UTC from web -
@critialcloudkicker i have to walk 1km to the bus stop
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:41:55 UTC from web-
@mushi More people should do that methinks... Either that or pick up a bicycle... * Just calculated that it is also 1 KM to the nearest bus stop for me, but it has dumb lines, and is less accessible than the train station which is 2 KM away...
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:46:59 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker well, id need ove one hour in the bus to go to the nearest subway station, but again, in a avarage traffic day, everythibg takes at least one and a half hour by bus
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:03:02 UTC from web-
@mushi And... bicycle ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:04:07 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker never went there by bicycle. i did wen walking, though, it took 6 hours
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:07:11 UTC from web-
@mushi Average walking speed is 5 KMPH, average cycling speed in Copenhagen is 15.5 KMPH. Soo... cycling will take about 2 hours ? ... Yea better stay with the bus
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:09:25 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker im actually thinkinh of strt going by bicycly, it would take justa a little more and it would be way more comfortable
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:11:30 UTC from web-
@mushi More comfortable ? How is that ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:12:44 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker no wating for a bu wher is is physically possible to get in to pass, no ridiculously overcrowded busses, no excessive human heat, no noisy people, no daily trafic jams
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:16:20 UTC from web-
@mushi I thought you did some homework and prepwork in the bus ?
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:18:12 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker modt of the the times there isnt enougj space for that
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:20:51 UTC from web-
@mushi Well, there is always the option to play music as loud as you want on the bicycle... or audiobooks... Bus people will complain
Friday, 07-Nov-14 22:22:04 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker yes thre is, the only problem is that it would be exausting

@critialcloudkicker You're being so european right now. Distances in america are on a different scale. So much that people think "An hours train journey" is "a short trip"
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:34:01 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark very true. Helps that this nation's states are close to the size of European nations.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:38:16 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark Actually, I call anything below 3 hours a short trip. Then again I am one of the exceptions. Still that does not really ever gave me a clear picture of schoobus-routes in the USA. I also know that if you wanted to pick up 50 kids by schoolbus in this suburban gathering of towns you'd probably have to make around 35 stops, none of them being closer together than at least half a mile.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:38:18 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark I still can't get used to the fact that people over there can go from one country to another in an hour.
Friday, 07-Nov-14 21:51:58 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark A three-hour car ride is a day trip for my family
