@mushi I feel like a handful of people angry at straight white men for centuries of oppression is kind of justified for, you know, centuries of oppression. Obviously it's not an actively good thing but I guess the bad comes before the good

(but To be a be called a nazi is the same as saying some is a Witch or something, its just to invoke fear and hatred. And to just write hitler off as evil ignores the support structure around him. Doing so means we learn nothing and are doomed to repeat it. The Allies said never again to war after WW1 but that lead to WWII and it was never again to the holocaust and then that has lead to massacres and genocides since. ) -
@razzleberry I think they were just trying to copy the Roman Empire (SPQR), but instead of having a path to citizenship, it was a path to the gas chamber. The EU project is going much better in that regard.

@cusco I do not know if it is related to the discussion or not, that is why I brought it up beginning with the words "what about" and ended with a "?". As for talking about sexual orientation, I am pretty sure that those priests did not choose to resort to sexual abuse, but rather felt cornered because they felt cornered by the words they preach themselves until frustration made them do something very very foolish. ... So in essence are they are being punished for not actually being asexual ?

@critialcloudkicker No, they're being punished for abusing children. I agree that religion opresses people but that's no excuse.
