    1. @tiffany I believe he said something to that effect in his acceptance speech, yes. Could be wrong though, I was pretty FrankerZed off last night and wasn't really paying much attention to it.

      1. @mrmattimation "I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the hateful and foreign ideology [...] And I have to say, as a Republican, it is so nice to hear you cheering for what I just said."

        1. @tiffany It's almost certainly a feint. You don't choose a VP who is /pro conversion therapy/ if you support LGBT people.

          1. @ceruleanspark Donald Trump did express support for LGBT people back when he was running in 2000. He wanted "civil unions" but that was a step above a lot of other people.

          2. @ceruleanspark This is hardly the election to pretend the choices were plentiful but I understand where you're coming from

            1. @tiffany He could have paid literally any executive from any of his companies a few million dollars to sign on as his VP. He didn't, because he saw Pence as an opportunity to harness the whackjob Evangelical vote.

              1. @ceruleanspark I'm pretty sure you just explained away the Mike Pence thing. He wanted to whack job vote. I'm not saying Trump supports gay people, but Pence was definitely a tactical thing.

    2. @tiffany He's a salesperson. The thing he's trying to sell is support for his presidency. He needs to shed the "Literally hitler" image half the populace has of him if he hopes to actually accomplish anything without having to battle 20 different obstructionist legal challenges every time he tries to do anything

      1. @ceruleanspark I honestly do feel like if he were insincere he wouldn't have said it the way he said it

    3. @tiffany “Are you saying that if you become president, you might try to appoint justices to overrule the decision on same-sex marriage?” asked Wallace.
“I would strongly consider that, yes,” Trump replied. http://pny.lv/1294w
