  1. Dear people who say they'd rather be in the actual explosion during a nuclear attack as to die quicker: That's retarded.

    1. @zeldatra As far as ways of dying go, Radiation Poisoning is notoriously unpleasant.

      1. @ceruleanspark If you know what you're doing, you wont get radiation poisoning.

        1. @zeldatra Unless you own a geiger counter and a survivalist stockpile, you're going to get exposed at some stage, and the only way you'll gauge you'll have is when you start manifesting symptoms.

          1. @ceruleanspark My point is that you CAN survive if you aren't in the initial explosion or the direct fallout.

            1. @zeldatra *reads conversation*... Actually you can survive within the direct fallout zone just as well as the next [megaton yield of nuclear detonation * 3.6 = Kilometer ( or Clicks )] As long as you know a few things. Radioactivity is like dust. if you leave direct fallout on your being for about 45 seconds you are certain to die. If you have a residence anywhere in the radioactivity-dangerzone secure the shower, make this shower a decontamination-zone. Get used to 30 second showers every 12 hours. Secure all the stuff you do not directly need outside of your direct living environment. Pray you have linoleum or a laminated floor, throw any carpet-textured-things out. Get used to mopping the floors once every 12 hours ( inventory and change the mop head as often as possible ). Bleach + cloth ( so yea, the (makeshift)mop-head ) + radioactivity = funky colours some say, although this might be a minimally noticed. Also rince the lids and pots you use before useage.

              1. @critialcloudkicker If you need to get out use a rain-coat and cover as much of your body as possible, decontaminate when you get home by wearing it and take a 30 second shower, then remove clothing and take another 30 minute shower. Pray you have a washing machine and/or airconditioner. Please make sure to make as minimal air as possible from outside come inside. And lastly ( sort of morbid ) if you start to loze hair you will not make it. Better be a gentlemen and give all the goods to a diffrent nearby makeshift shelter because I doubt you will ever need them.

        2. @zeldatra Believe it or not, but prior to about '97, the BBC was actually pretty good. The rest of british television was better as well. Channel 4 was actually watchable.

        1. @scoot It's probably more distressing now, given that you'll notice how accurate it is.
