I guess the reason I have trouble enjoying Season 2 is that I *get* friendship and can relate. I have family, but that's falling to pieces bit by bit since I moved here. I don't believe love exists in the form of romance that gets thrown about all the time. Lust, yes, but 'love' as seen on TV is a myth to me. Season 1 is all about friendship and Twilight's personal growth in that area. Season 2 is more spread out in the relationships it explores. And while it is admirable to cover more types of relations, it's just less entertaining for me.

@mushi Well. 'Shipping' isn't necessarily friendship. That's more courtship and romance. Which is far far more in the realm of fan product than the show itself.

@retl well, when i saw all that pony fuzz i though "ah that is just a show about girls getting boyfriends, there is no way i'm going to watch that". I think i can keep watch as long as they do not change the friendship for romance

BTW, guys. Lying about the quality of the show to convine people to watch it is more likely to turn them off by overhype than to foster genuine interest.

@ceruleanspark A friend of mine (alongside my morbid curiosity) reccomending it to me was the reason I checked it out, he never came off as obnonxious to me, he never has to be honest.

Public chalkboard? Draw fillies on balloons. I've really gotta pick up some new interests or something. (Did Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Fillytwi on the boards so far. Probably won't see another open chalkboard for a while unless I buy my own.

@alargesmallhorse Objectively speaking, Season 2 had better animation and detail-work than Season 1 did. (Intro reworked, distinct magic-colors per character. Variety in pony body builds increased, since they had the old ones available to reuse.) || Subjectively, I believe Season 1 makes a better humor series, and Season 2 makes a better exploratory series.

@retl I think season 2 looked better overall, but season 1 had the authenticity. it felt more like a little girl's show as opposed to a boys one or whatever we've made it. I used to believe season 1 had better writing, but upon further review, they're both pretty even there. I think the reason S2 looked so much better was purely because budget was increased so much. I believe they're both good and I can't really pick a favorite or anything, but they each have their redeeming factors.

Another way of reading it is that they want to play up the romance angle of the series. Just follow the line of logic: Friendships-> build up into courting relationships-> which become the romantic relationships-> that lead into families-> Offspring have to learn lessons of friendships from the beginning.

@spectrumflash Well Pipsqueak was just the prominant character that the producers used to channel emotions and such through in that episode. I don't believe we ever really see them as more than slight acquaintances.

!bcbronies Alright, I've got a damn busy few days up ahead and will have minimal time for planning. Does ANYONE live or work near the convention centre who could stop by and check out a good meeting spot for the morning of Fan Expo Saturday? Unless anyone objects, I still say meeting in a specific spot at anywhere from like 9:15-10:00 would be the best way to all get together and figure out the day's schedule. @thepuzzldpirate The library's freakin' huge, is there a specific street this parkade's on that you could give to help direct people?

@spectrumflash 100 MB. I'm debating between just adding 50 MB for $1 or going for an extra 100 MB storage and 5 more MB of RAM for $3. But the $3 one comes with a website, which we already have, though I could redirect it to the .com... Anyway, we currently have a 100 MB quota. And 20 MB RAM.
