hope to god those Nvidia leaks are fake, those are some ugly motherbatcaveing graphics cards.
Monday, 15-Jun-20 19:49:24 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation Who cares how they look like? As long as they perform and have good thermals for a reasonable price it's all nice and dandy. Also those leaks are nVidia's own design, and all other manufacturers can implement their own solution. Most of the time the card is in a PC case and in my case there is no window in my case, so looks are totally irrellevant.

@adiwan Hey, have you seen this alleged 6-foot Burger King crown? https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/2020-05-26-burger-king-germany-social-distancing-crowns-fast-food-24433428.html

@mrmattimation For decades a lot of countries have voting by mail. There are real world numbers how insignificant the frauds are. Also not giving people the opportunity to vote is soooo democratic.
-
@mrmattimation It's damn welcome, but I feel too little, too late.
-
@adiwan We’ve had states IN THE US that have been majority mail-in voting for YEARS before Covid. It’s just that they were all Republican states like Utah and Arizona. Wasn’t a problem before. Now that everyone else is doing it suddenly it’s an “invitation” for voter fraud. BS.

@adiwan Oh hey I was just squawking about this (in part) https://social.justinbremer.com/notice/9vCzvFyGmzfAo0YK8G

@scribus I'm a mostly hygienic reasonable person and already practiced most basic things like keeping distance and washing regularly my hands (going outside, coming home, before a meal...) and being highly aware of not touching the face upon touching others (shaking hands for example). Seeing others doing the same thing on a loosened quarantine is almost impossible. Whenever seeing public rest rooms somewhere else or at work... You lose faith. In my opinion it'll spread even faster because the mass of infected people is higher than at the beginning. 3 months in a tight lockdown would solve this problem, however most people gave up after a few weeks.
-
@adiwan It's frustrating.

AMD, whyyyyyy doesn’t your Ryzen series have integrated graphics, not having a working GPU suuuuucks
Thursday, 14-May-20 21:34:59 UTC from web-
@mrmattimation There are Ryzen CPUs with an integrated GPU, but they are on the low-end and have a G at the end of the model number.

Today I've killed about 30 ants that tried to invade my apartment. I live on the 3rd level of the building. I haven't expected so many of them this high off the ground. I'm glad they were only in the bathroom where they could be easily spotted in front of the white tiles.

Printing my face face mask http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/875504
Wednesday, 29-Apr-20 13:23:33 UTC from web-
@scribus I'll put a filter behind later. This model doesn't have any fixtures for a filter. After printing I consider thinking about one, or even none. I also could just wear a normal mask under that.
-
@adiwan I was thinking about getting fleshtone spandex and trying to look like I was all eyes without a face, but that involved going out and holding up swaths of public fabric to my face and you can see why that'd be a bad idea even if the stores were open so... :p Anyway, good luck on it!
-
@scribus First of all the scale of my mask has to fit. Due to the scanning process and the myriad of 3d programs I had to use the scale is all out of whack when exporting. So I had to guess the right scale. I used some marker places and guesstimated the final thing.

Things that bother me: The phrase "<some fact> after all". For me it's always a groanworthy cheap way of exposition. The "after all" is the icing on the cake to make it more obvious.

Whenever there will be a decision for a mandatory face mask I'll 3D scan my face, cut out the nose area up to the chin, scale up the model slightly and create holes (nose, mouth), add holders for filters and for a mounting strap, and then 3D print it.

The SSD is a godsend. I feel my PC is snappy again. I'm copying all my old stuff and oh boy does it take its time. I already knew this but the contrast right in front of me magnifies this tenfold.

It's happening: I'm upgrading to Windows 10. My Windows 7 bastion is crumbling. While being stuck at home I have time to install and set everything up. I also bought a Samsung EVO 970 m.2 SSD because my HDD SUUUUCKS. I can wait up to 15 minutes until Fusion 360 is fully operational upon opening.

@mrmattimation At my super market they hired a person to insure that the safety distance between each person in the queue is kept. Too bad that the store is not very big and the aisles are narrow.
