@oracle I know that feeling, and then I finished it and installed bob's mods. That game broke me.

"you have to recognize that racism didn’t just disappear overnight in 1964"
I have read Bill Clinton's Crime Bill. If you have too then you know just how badly I want a clear-cut anti-racism route to take and make future generations proud of things we accomplished.Wednesday, 06-Feb-19 22:31:39 UTC from web -
@nerthos I hope you are not planning to shut down all parks. I am not trying to downplay anything as what is happening is horrible and shut be shut down by any appropriate means. The question is that people have totally different outlooks on what are appropriate means.
But in the end, things like MSN did not die because of a child grooming, Skype is still around even, and so is Central Park. We'll just have to wait for the FBI (+ perhaps some other country agencies) to conclude their findings.
Waiting is not one of the things I am good at. -
@nerthos With 'thing' you mean the grooming thing, yes? I mean I like Discord and I have seen quite a few doomsayers preaching that Discord will die because of it.

What is going on? Apparently they confirmed Spongebob music, there were only 2 seconds of it before they moved to another song, people reeeee'd and now they are superbly throwing owls around like it is a sport? That is all I was able to comprehend. Probably gonna figure out what is what tomorrow but the problem is that I am curious NOW.

@adiwan Haha I was being facetious for comedic effect. Also WOW that printer, now I really want one.
-
@adiwan I am looking forwards to "3D printothron" to take on the "Floppotron" http://rainbowdash.net/url/873796
-
@scribus 317 Kelvin ? Oh yeah, probably worth the "I am sorry officer, I tripped into this fountain" excuse with those temps.
-
@scribus Today I found http://rainbowdash.net/url/873795 and it made me think of what you said five days ago.
But what of the times in between ?
Well I guess I have a 486DX4 that still accepts EISA cards somewhere. I'll let you know if I find it. -
@scribus Oof, remember how the CHECHA[xx] and CHECKB[xx] Playstation 3 models have Playstation 2 compattibility by hardware support.
And then the CHECHC[xx] and CHECHE[xx] try to achieve the same thing ( poorly ) by partial software emulation on the PS3's part
And then from the CHECHG[xx] versions onwards Sony went like "Ahh, noone is going to miss that anyway"
And then the OtherOS kerfuffle that only got resolved in some class action lawsuit in 2018 ?
Backwards compattibility really is quite like a fanged animal, with teeth, pretending to be a treasure chest. -
@adiwan Oh yes, I know what you mean with VGA. None of my laptops had VGA and it was REALLY annoying untill I dumpsterdove myself an HP pavilion ( with an i7, rather old generation ). and repaired it by mostly figuring out the charge port was broken and putting on a pigtail ( RC-car battery cable ). It charges and it works, but looks like an IED. Still I find myself using it WAY too much for 'old' stuff. This includes the projector in the conferance room at work ( who still has a projector that only has VGA & DVI-A. really ? Cmon now )
But yeah, eventually products with things like 802.11b and possibly Bluetooth 2.0 and lower will be no longer supported by new-tech. When that happens people are probably going to be happy that some 'nerd' still has a way to recover that one vacation photo from 2005.
Bonus : What do you mean it is only 600 kilopixel ? I do not care, I just know it looks like Chungus -
@adiwan Wait, if you are old-fashioned for using bluetooth, then how old am I ? O_O
-
@adiwan Why would you want to transfer files via bluetooth ? Yes ofcourse I would transfer via bluetooth but only after I would have exhausted all other ways to transfer files. But I would actually prefer to program my own FTP client using a magnet and a needle than to use bluetooth. Mainly because for some reason bluetooth always screws up royally whenever I use it.

@springyglimmy Hi :D
I hope you like Star Wars references because you just made one. -
Actual things that are on my mind
1: Should I watch rising of the shield hero just because I think the Raccoon Girl has some cute memez ?
2: I joked about EA buying Activision between now and 4 years if Activision could not sell enough Smileyfaces ( seriously, look it up, custom scope crosshair for 2 dollar ) but now I am starting to fear it was not really much of a joke but more something a soothsayer would mysteriously say and then laugh as she ( or he ) dissapears into a thick fog.
3: I wonder how long the conversation about woodchucks between Guybrush Threepwood and the Woodchuck would go on for in the original first draft of Monkey Island 2. "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"
5: counting is hard.Wednesday, 23-Jan-19 01:22:53 UTC from web -
So I never had physics nor chemistry in school. But I am pretty sure that if you throw Cyanoacrylate ( super glue ) onto baking powder you are going to release some Hydrogen in the process.
The question is, if you do this to quickly correct mistakes on a model you are working on ( since the super glue will harden almost instantly ), should you be worried about the release of the Hydrogen ?
Should I be happy that someone who did that ( who is a smoker ) was not smoking when he did that ?Thursday, 17-Jan-19 20:57:46 UTC from web -
@adiwan this thing is now playing in my head http://rainbowdash.net/url/873700
I blame your bunck / dunny. -
@adiwan Ohno, what have you done ? http://rainbowdash.net/url/873687
-
@adiwan Haha, oh wow, how delightfully nicely improvised. I can smell the masking/painters tape from here.
You know I just realized while popping the bubble wrap of my latest package from China ( its a pointery lasery thingie ), the bubble wrap is almost universally made from Poly ( PP ) and no way that stuff would melt at those temperatures. At least the chamber, in no way am I going to risk saying anything about the heat bed in conjunction with cheap Chinese plastics. -
Probably a BIG sign that you are getting old is when abbreviation that made their own legacy inside of a generation need to be explained. "UT99" for instance. Yes that just happened, even if answered by "Oh, I thought/hoped you meant that" does not take away any of the dimensions to the proverbial sign.

@adiwan Metal the material as opposed to ? Aluminum of 2780 Kelvin ( rough estimate ) ? Is gas even a material ? And now that I have done some really cringy guesses, might as well throw in the 3D graphic and shader API of Apple.
That channel looks like an absolute blast though. DIY sonic welding, even though that is going to be a failure ( it says so on the tin ) probably a rather fun video. -
@adiwan Nice channel.
Also Gallium is a fun metal. -
@adiwan Bill from Bosnia? Yeah that channel (if it is still around) is made of pure awesome, and worry. You'd be amazed with how little practice on locks you own yourself, most bought for that very purpose, you are ready to tackle the big leagues. By which I mostly mean everything at work that they lost the key to. Excluding money trays/cases, those things for some reason mostly come with dual 'teeth' on the keys. But you can make a bumpkey for those if you really cared, too bad that making a bumpkey for just one is no guarantee, especially if you do not have a brother/sister case/tray to copy off of. Also I can open them with just a hammer, and 2 screwdrivers and they are way too cheap to replace anyway.
I wonder what Bosnian Bill is up to these days. -
@mrmattimation Oh dear, I am not going to touch that. Mainly because the moment you say "Well at least the country has not burned itself to the ground yet" you are going to risk upsetting someone to the extreme. I can only wish you the best of luck on that.
But I can be bribed with the appropriate liquid if you want me to yap your head off about how Saddam would probably still be alive if Ross Perot won the election. At least I think that is a safe subject these days, if not at least safer. -
@adiwan Doctor Doctor ! What can you do for somepony who just lost a hoof, went flying into a tree the next county over, and now swears that she broke some sort of 'Mach' record ?
"What ? How ? And who are you"
We sudden brainiac loco are Scientists ! -
There are 3 HUGE things in life which I do not think should be trifled with, these are in order: sentient species, alcohol, matters explained by science rather than magic.
Now what happened was that a friend of a friend started spewing nonsense about railguns and how it would not have recoil because all that the electomagnetic force is doing is pulling. Then I am sorry, I can not let that one go. Either admit you are wrong or attempt to bribe me with the correct liquid.
It would take quite a few glasses full for me to forget about the third law of Newton. -
@adiwan Ugh, good luck with that. I hope you took the foresight of making loads of photographic evidence.
-
@adiwan DHL ? Also Wii U games without the DVD case or something ?
-
@mrmattimation Is it bad for me to assume that the background of your avatar is representative of your nations flag and you want to fix Nigeria ?
-
@scribus Scribus, online, with a dictionary. Did I win this game of Cluedo ?
