@mrmattimation I've worked alongside cashiers who were suspicious of money old enough to be of a design they didn't remember. I, myself, have been taken aback by the changes when I come across an old bill.

@scribus Maybe it’s just because I, being the guy who counts the money at the end of the night, see bills from back when we only had 48 states more often than one normally does.

@scribus Around the time of that school shooting in Broward County, I had a cartoon written (and a background painted!) that was just Marco Rubio listening to a bunch of voicemails from constituents telling him to kill himself, it was like four straight minutes of just that, and then the punchline was that he... kills himself. I decided not to do it when I realized it would probably get me a friendly visit from some federal prosecutors looking to ask me some questions.

@scribus I just watched all the 13 episodes. It's good. Not overwhelmingly good. Good good. Some jokes and segments were not to my own taste but the rest was good 'ol fun.

@adiwan @scribus I enjoyed it quite a bit, although I definitely thought the Pinky and the Brain segments were generally the better parts of the episodes they were in. Not that the Warner Bros. segments were bad at all, they were pretty funny, I just thought P&B had waaaaay less misses.

@mrmattimation Pinky and the Brain operate from a well-established formula and it s not very surprising that their segment is the more consistent one. I still agree that they were mostly the better part of the show.

@scribus This is really just a bad habit of mine. Any home console games where you could manipulate things on-screen usually ended up getting pushed to their very limits by me. Special mention goes to Fallout 4 where my game was perpetually running at sub-20 any time I was in one of my settlements.

Well, I got off the phone with some dork local politician. Told him four times now I'll never vote for him; might still, haven't looked into his positions. But, he needs to be punished for daring to spam me. E-mail, said "Leave me alone." So he calls, I say "Seriously, no." So he has some rando volunteer text me. Like I said, maybe he is the best guy for the job, but he's still an asshole and mango him for that!

@scribus eh, that's not exactly uncommon for a Republican, if anything it's a little low. McCain had 55% of whites in 2008, and he lost the election by a bigger margin than any candidate of the 21st century. No Democrat has carried the white vote since at least 1964, and maybe even before that, the data only goes back to 1976.

@mrmattimation Yeah, but I'm not really concerned about the historicity of the GOP, though. This jackass may be lower than other old white jackasses have been, but when 50% can agree, even in a straw poll, with (vague sweeping arm gesture)? It's more the revelations about the national psyche than it is old stats and current prognostications. I just grew up inherently skeptical of The System, but still -- I used to be able to believe in People, as a whole. This administration has shattered my faith in anything other than entropy. I always kind of knew I was "Brown eyes watching from a White perspective," but the other white faces used to only sometimes let their hatred show. Now, they seem to be hiding even their former pretense of humanity in favor of letting their hate flag take full mast. And... damn, man. Just... damn. I want it over. And I'm almost ashamed of what I'd be willing to do to End it, capital-E.

@scribus he gave a very “somber and serious” press conference where he refrained from blasting the media, and he stayed off of Twitter for about 48 hours where all he did was retweet campaign and White House statements and, in one instance, encourage the Senate to pass a bill that the leaders of both parties already publicly endorsed. His next press conference was, of course, a total appleshow. I imagine his new campaign manager was behind the changes and I imagine he’ll be fired very soon.

@scribus two people, straight-up eighty years old, start scuffling when the get off the bus. Idk who started it but they were each saying the other one shoved them. They were yelling and pushing each other and one of them started demanding we call the police and then when the police came suddenly the dude didn’t speak English and we had to get a Chinese-speaking cashier to interpret and at some point in the translation his story changed and he said nobody shoved anybody, she just fell. Nobody got arrested but I’m pretty sure the lady’s gonna press charges cos they’re neighbors and they have to see each other every day.

@mrmattimation Well, in CA anyway, they have a whole variety that I don't understand, but I know there are "100s" or something that means it's extra-long, and the paper tears easy enough. Not sure it'll be exactly accurate, but I suppose de-filtered could pass for unfiltered if done cleanly. X-Acto blade, maybe even.

@scribus This stuff is why I hope Biden’s lead remains as it is or grows. If he wins with a vote share that’s closer to Bush 2004 than Obama 2008, Trump will litigate every close state and throw us into a Supreme Court headache even worse than Bush v. Gore.

@mrmattimation I dunno how far exactly I'd go to defend these sorts of jokes but pretty much every example I can think of is pretty obviously a subversive criticism *of* blackface. Obviously I am not the person who can/should decide if that makes it more okay, but I feel like removing these scenes is stifling discussions of anti-racism if anything. Like just put the disclaimer in front like WB and Disney or whatever
