Well, time to go to bed, fail to sleep for a few hours due to worry, inevitably wake up in a cold sweat around 4am, then rise at 8am wondering how I could be so tired. At least I've already figured out tomorrow's activity to distract me from the inevitable!

@techdisk42 Both were in warranty and both were sent for repairs. The sony one (newest) never had a problem since. The gateway (older) broke even more afterward. Out of four usb ports on that thing, only one works.

@eaglehooves Yup. Half the hinge had been split open since May, and in December the screen finally gave up. Had it back some time in January or February in good working order, but now some of the USB ports are having issues...

@redenchilada Good hinges are hard to find. I like the ones on the Thinkpad, Latitude, and Precision, but those are all expensive-as-buck machines.

@eaglehooves Yep! Theres a site dedicated to old programs whos name escapes me. It has all of the firefox releases from 1 to whatever. And probably alot of other programs too.
