When I was in highschool the PE teacher insisted that I wore shorts or light pants to his class and that actually diminished my performance since I wasn't used to them.

@mushi I tend to wear them because they're resistant enough to offer a degree of protection but not cumbersome. If it were up to me I'd be wearing scale mail.

@mushi Yeah, I get you. I feel uncomfortable in shorts or really light fabrics though. Carrying anything in a pocket in sports pants is the worst.

I suspect that one of the customers that just came through my line beats his wife. I didn't say anything because I wasn't certain, I don't know what to say or who to say it to, and the guy was much bigger than me and I got intimidated. I should have done something, though, and I actually can't get the image of that woman's face out of my mind. I'm not looking for sympathy because I feel like total scum of the earth and I'm not the one who needs it, I just wanted to get that out there, even though none of you guys can do anything/care because keeping my mouth shut felt horrible.

@mrmattimation Men who beat their loved ones are the worst sort of pondscum. That being said I can't blame you for not doing something, especially since there are so many variables in this sort of thing for an outsider to invite their way in.

@mrmattimation As @awl said, it's really hard to intervene in any sort of domestic violence incident without ending up involved or being the bad guy. Even more so since people who are victims in this kind of thing often would rather lash out to anyone who tries to get involved and side with the perpetrator. They or their families will solve it in time if they want to. If you had any proof you could go to the cops, but without any trying to do something will most likely blow in your face.
